I can't answer your question, but I am curious as to how they found out. I just began a 3 year federal probation sentence...well actually right now I am on home confinement for 120 days

I would be surprised if they did anything more than extend out your probation. Leaving the district for one day, generally, is not considered a serious breach.

My guess is nothing will happen except to get a tongue lashing from your PO---assuming of course you did not do anything inappropriate outside the district. Dont make a habit of it or the will violate you.

I agree with John.

Odds are good that nothing will happen outside of a serious 'sit down and go over the rules one more type of thing'. Over the years (working on my side of things) I've seen it go both ways - some people get away with all kinds of things and some get violated for the most minor stupid things. However odds are good that nothing will happen.

Stay smart and get this over with. Don't do things to drag this out any further than necessary or that might cause you to be sent to prison. And don't ever doubt that they will send you to prison if need be.

Take care

I did five years of Probation and I can honestly say I had NO problem with it or either of my two officers. In fact - now that one is retired he and his wife have had me over for dinner and I see the other one areound town often. I strongly agree with what GG says; do NOT make this any harder than it has to be - I didn't think the probation rules were too hard to follow and I am NOT going back to prison.

I learned MY lessen to instant I heard those handcuffs snap the day of my arrest.

If nothing else just remind yourself that if you're violated you'll be waiting in county jail 'til they get you to a Federal Prison.

I just finished 5 years on probatation. It willl be totally up to your probatation officer. I goofed up a couple of times, (nothing serious) and mine put me on house arrest for 30 days, but did not extend my probatation. Good luck
