I was wondering if anyone here is currently having family visits here. My husband has to go before the ICC before we know if were approved. I talked to the CCII and he said he has a 50/50 chance of getting approved. It doesn't sound good to me. Has anyone had to go through this before?

Well my husband was at PSVP up until he got transferred a year ago. When he went to comittee that's when they told him he was 'approved' for family visits (he was previously on close custody).
As far as the actual family visit it was cool. You order your food before hand from an outside company and if it doesn't arrive three days prior to your visit they have to cancel it but I believe that's rare. They're in a trailer (nice size) which has two bedrooms and the living/kitchen area are in one big room. They also have central air which is good because a lot of places don't. The family visiting coordinator (Mrs. Priolo) is very nice. They check you in around 10 am and you leave around 8:30 or 9. The only thing I didn't like was the damn phone! They have a phone inside that the guard in the tower calls into the trailer to have your husband come out for count. YOU have to go out once (at 5:00 in the evening) and they 'count' you - basically ask 'is everything okay'? oh- and they have a stove too! Anyway, that's about all I can remember right now if you have any more questions, just ask!

Thanks!!! I've talked to Mrs. Priolo and she was very nice. The phone that's in the trailer, can I make outgoing calls on it or is it only for doing a head count? All this info is really helpful. Thank you so much.:)

The phone just calls the tower at Mule Creek. No phone use during visits. In case of an emergency, you can terminate your visit to take a phone call. But once you leave, you can't go back in. If you have kids you aren't taking, or other reasons to suspect emergencies, be sure to ask the visiting office for a phone extension that is manned 24/7. The visiting number isn't and it could be 7 am or later before anyone checks messages.

ONce the counselor reviews your husbands app. and goes through his file, its not usually that long. It took us about a month because his counselor was on like a 3 week vacation. But we have been cleared, now we jjust have to wait for him to get off lockdown.
