Hello again everyone! The official news came today, I am DISAPPROVED for visiting my friend. He was told this was because I am also on my father's visitation list, even though he is at a different facility. I actually met my friend through my father when they were at the same unit and we have kept in contact ever since. He has been in prison almost 16 years. He needs someone out here to let him know he is loved. I would be his ONLY VISITOR. Imagine that. It is such a sad situation. I know several posts to my earlier comments stated that you guys might know some people who will be affected by this new policy. I was wondering if we get the word out and join together, is there a chance for changes to ever be made? I just cannot sit here and do nothing. This is an unfair policy and I want my voice to be heard.

Have you considered writing a letter and asking for a special consideration? Michigan has a law that you can only visit one inmate - the only exception being immediate family.

However, sometimes they will grant visitation to more than one inmate under some special circumstances.

That's a good idea, I will try that. At this point, anything is worth a try. I know ths ADC offers "special" visits to persons who live 300 or more miles away...I am about 270. Who would be the person to write to ask for something like that?
