My boyfriend is at Kilby right now. He called yesterday and said he was being moved to either Draper or Elmore. He told me that in my next letter to include my SSN so I can be put on the mail and money list. I was wondering if anyone knows that this is true. I'm just afraid that it isnt and my SSN can get in the hands of the wrong people. I don't think that he would lie to me, but right now, I cant really tell. I would appreciate any information that you can give me on this.

To my knowledge there is no mail list you have to be put on..All you have to do to send him mail is have his AIS# Dorm and bed number. To be put on his funds, visitation list he will need your social security number

Mail list--he does not need you SS#
Funds list---yes, he must give them you SS#, name, address etc
Vistation list---yes, in order to be approved to visit you must provide your SS#

My friend told me i would have to send my SS# to send him funds but said I could send to his lawyer and he would see he got it. So i do that insted.

Does anyone else here send to the lawyer rather then the prison?

The lawyer will be the one to give it to the prison instead of your friend. You could also call up to the prison where he is at and give them your social security number if you don't want to give it to your friend.
