One of the news articles Hunt's Girl posted says the $3 co-pay for medical visits has been in place since January. I didn't know it was already in place?!

Does anyone have more info about it? Has anyone's man had to pay? What about the people without money on their books?

thanks!

When my fiancee was at Diagnostics and wound up in the hospital, he got charged the $3 co-pay.
I'm not sure how it's taken care of if they don't have any money on their books.

Julie, My husband had to go to the "doctor" a couple of months ago and he was charged the 3$ co-pay. From what he has told me, if an inmate does not have any money on their books the prison will run a "tab" and as soon as the inmate gets money the co-pay will automatically be taken out (if they owe more than they get then they will take it all and the balance will be reduced. They will continue to take their money until all is paid) . I asked "what if the inmate NEVER gets money" and he told me that every year the state gives them something for Christmas and they will just take it back.

It has been suspended in the women's unit, because there is a terrible virus going around and alot of women are really sick.
