View Full Version : Would Jesus pull the Switch?
I debated whether to put this here or in the spiritual connection, but as I read and read, I felt it needed to go hear. I have read a lot of stuff that tore at my heart, but I have never read anything that made me cry like this. PLEASE, take the time to read this...... words cannot explain this article..you have to experience it yourself.

torrey 05-04-2002, 10:28 AM When I read the question my answer was a real quick OF course Not!
Unfortunatly some devout Christians would be the first to pull the switch.
sherri13 05-05-2002, 08:53 PM JOY-THIS ARTICLE WAS LONG BUT WELL WORTH THE TIME-WHEN I READ THE DESCRIPTION OF HER EXPERIENCE WITNESSING PATRICK'S EXECUTION, IT CHILLED ME TO THINK OF THE ENVIRONMNET OF SEEMINGLY "NORMALCY' THIS PLANNED MURDER OCCURRED. GOD HELP US THAT WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY THAT CAN JUSTIFY MURDER AS AN ANSWER TO ANYTHING, WHERE WE CAN KILL A MAN AND THEN DRINK A CUP OF COFFEE WITH NO REGRET
danielle 05-05-2002, 10:26 PM I really liked this article - it touched me and reinforced the ills of the death penalty. It also made me very, very sad.
This line stood out the most to me:
He--like each of us--was more than the worst thing he had done in his life.

Budwoman 05-06-2002, 02:36 PM OH MY PRECIOUS GOD! BLESS US ALL, HELP US TO FIGHT THIS UNJUSTICE......
NO, JESUS WOULD NOT PULL THE SWITCH.... HE WOULD LOVE AND UNDERSTAND AND TEACH. HE WOULD NEVER KILL ANYONE.
MAY WE ALL LEARN FROM THIS.

B-Ray 05-06-2002, 07:53 PM >>>UNDERSTAND AND TEACH<<<
There is the key, but how does one understand, since each person is so different and how does one know, when or if they have learned since inmates are known to play the word games and behave, when there is no other choice?
Then, how much "pain" (absence of pleasure) too get there attention in order to teach?
Budwoman 05-16-2002, 11:56 AM BRAY, I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING AND FOR SOME, THERE IS THAT FACT. WE CAN ONLY GET TO THOSE THAT REALLY WISH TO LISTEN. THIS IS THE CASE EVEN IN SCHOOL WHEN TEACHERS ARE TEACHING STUDENTS.... SOME OF THEM WILL NOT LEARN BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO...
I THINK, SOMETIMES, THAT HEARING REAL LIFE STORIES HELP YOU TO LEARN.... I KNOW IT HAS ME OVER THE YEARS... AND THE MAIN ONE WAS WHAT WAS REALLY HAPPENING IN THE PRISONS AND IN THE JUSTICE SYSTEM ITSELF.... HAD I NOT BEEN INVOLVED AND WATCHED OTHERS SUFFER, I WOULD NEVER HAVE BELIEVED ANYONE ABOUT IT...

THERE IS NO WAY THAT JESUS WOULD PULL THAT SWITCH AND I THINK THAT HE WILL BE STANDING THERE WITH A VERY UNHAPPY FACE WHEN HE LOOKS UPON ALL THAT DID.
Goody's Girl 05-16-2002, 05:52 PM Pam, I agree. Everyone will have to answer for what they have done in their lives. I sure wouldn't want to be in the shoes of anybody that has executed someone.
Shortie 05-17-2002, 11:13 PM no no no no no no no no THERE IS NO WAY HE WOULD
Big B 06-03-2002, 03:42 AM What do you think is going to happen when we stand at the Grreat Judgment.
For those that chose not to accept Christ, God will pull the switch as in send us to Hell forever.
God is a loving but JUST God.
aprilcat 06-03-2002, 05:38 AM The God I know would never pull the switch, inject the fluids, or release the gas....
sherri13 06-03-2002, 09:41 AM GOD SAYS TO FORGIVE THOSE WHO SIN AGAINST US AND HE ALSO SAYS IF YOU ASK FOR FORGIVENESS /REPENT YOU WILL BE SAVED-SHOULD WE AS "MAN" BELIEVE WE CAN OVERRIDE THIS DIVINE DIRECTIVE?????
