Kraft Recalls Jello-O Vanilla Pudding Mix

NORTHFIELD, Ill. -- Kraft Foods is recalling more than 1,200 packages of Jell-O brand vanilla pudding mix because the label does not say the product may contain pistachio nuts.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pistachio nuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the recalled pudding mix.
Kraft said no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported.
The 1-ounce packages of vanilla Jell-O brand sugar-free, fat-free, reduced-calorie instant pudding and pie filling were distributed in Midwestern states.
The product being recalled has a "best when used by" code of 05 MAR 07 D8.
The recall announcement expands a recall Kraft announced April 11 for 148,500 mislabeled packages of other flavors of the mix that may contain pistachio nuts and were distributed nationwide:
White chocolate, with "best when used by" codes 05 MAR 07 D8 and 06 MAR 07 D8.
Chocolate, with "best when used by" code 06 MAR 07 D8.
Chocolate fudge, with "best when used by" code 07 MAR 07 D8.
Kraft said consumers can return the pudding to the store where it was purchased.
