My hubby got transferred to Dick Ware unit a week ago so he can take some classes Middleton didn't have... I just called today and he was moved back to Middleton?? I'm so confused! Why would they send him back to Middleton when he just started his class Monday? Huntsville told me this happens regularly (getting transferred after only a week?), but why? Middleton doesn't offer hardly any classes, so why would they send him back?

Do you guys think they just made a pit stop at Middleton and come Sunday they'll ship him off again? I'm so scared he'll end up in El Paso! That's like 9hrs from me!! I don't know what to think. Do I have a reason to worry?

I think i know what they are doing to your honey. What i heard is that they are shuffling the prisoners around. The prisons are overcrowded right now. Whenever the inspectors are scheduled to come, they remove prisoners from their currect location and then bring them back after inspectors leave. Sometimes just for 2 days. It depends when the inspectors are scheduled to visit the location that they were moved to. They probably have more room at middleton and thats why they sent him back. Classes dont mean anything to the system. They already knew he wasnt going to be there long when he signed up for them. That's just how it is.

In Texas nothing makes sense when it come to the justice system. Just keep calling to check his status. Unfortunately if you get a good answer that could change tomorrow. You just have to learn to go with it ....doesn't mean that you have to like it though.

My brother has only been in TDCJ a little over a year and has been in 5 different units and Midddleton 4 times. They move them all the time.

I guess we are lucky -- after his initial evaluations, Stewart has been at the same unit since January 1997!

WOW! You are lucky. I'm pretty sure he'll stay where he's at now for a while. Too bad he's darn near in MEXICO! I'm way up in DFW area.

If he's in Middleton, he won't be there too long. It's just a transfer facility. That's like a stopping place on the way to the unit he'll be transferred to.
