Prisoners’ choir gets award from US evangelists BANGKOK, Apr 24, (TNA) – The Ministry of Justice and the Department of Corrections have received an award from a US evangelical Christian society for creating the world’s largest choir made up entirely of prison inmates.
The International Mission Board (IMB), which amongst other work supports Christian activities in prisons around the world, gave the award to the Thai government in recognition of its work in encouraging prisoners to participate in the choir, which it said had helped build up Thailand’s reputation abroad.
It also noted that the choir acted as a form of music therapy to improve the lives of the prison inmates. (TNA)-E006
