Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga, CA: C yard is in isolation because Tuberculosis has been found. There will be no visiting for the weekend of April 30. they will be doing TB Testing throughout the prison.

At CIM there is going to be testing for all inmates on the 30th. It's been scheduled for a while now. I believe quite a few, if not all prisons in California are doing TB testing on the 30th.

There is testing the weekend of the 30th that I believe is statewide. No visiting. If they have found an active case and the yard is quarantined there would be no visiting this weekend either. Seems like in the past when I have heard of this testing was immediate. Probably part of the yearly testing.

So Does that mean no visits for this weekend as well? And do they do this in every prison? Around the same time?

I was planing to go down there on the 30th... so at least now i know.... :( :) DreamyLatina I dont think C-Yard might have visit this week-end because they are in isolation... but if you want you can call 1800-374-8474 and fallow the directions and they will give u this week-ends update for visit PVSP normally updates there Messeage around 3pm i guess it all depends... so u wont get lost for PVSP you press 1 than 4 than 8 and it would take u to there visit info messeage... hope that helps you.... :)

My husband called last night and said they were talking about starting the testing this weekend, so call first. And yes, the whole prison will be on lockdown, not just c yard.
I won't have an actual yes or no until after 7pm tonight. so I will post again after I talk to him.

First of all, I have to apologize for not getting back online last night with the updated news. I'm either having probs with my new modem, or with AOL. Hopefully, all of you called to find out if there was visiting this weekend, which there was/is. If not, maybe you can go tomorrow. Again, I am sorry, and hope it didnt' cause anyone to miss a visit.

Now for the update.
Testing will be done on the 30th, and there will be visiting on Sunday the first, so far...
Please call on Sat to find out if this has changed. There are a lot of inmates that need to be tested.
C yard is having some visiting. It is called "escort visits" (?)
I believe it is level 4 that is on lockdown. but you need to call the visiting hotline or the reg. number, hit 1, 2, 8 for wardens office. You won't get his office, but at least a live person will answer.
Visiting was not crowded today, so I am thinking that a lot of people did not go because of this. There is no reason not to go, but it is your choice.

No, I do not know anything about Wasco. Try calling the hotline or the prison. There should be a number in this forum somewhere. Do a search for Wasco or go to CDC website.

Hi, I was just wondering :rolleyes: my husband is in the hole right now waiting to get transferred but does this also apply to him since he is away from the others?:confused: (main line) i was just curios cause he's unable to come out of his cell but one hour a day and for yard and there are no others that come out with him? Yes, it will affect your husband even though he is in the hole. He still has to be tested.

Sofiey? I do not know, since I have no idea what asu stands for. If he is ad-seg, then yes he can have visits, but they are one hour behind glass and you have to have an appt. Other than that, I do not know. C yard IS allowed visiting except for the 4th level.

Wasco has had it posted for a while. . . testing is this Saturday and may postpone visitation but they don't know for how long. It may be minimal or most of the day. . . .Pray for efficiency on the part of CDC.:p

Yes, the visiting line is long. It is better to have an appt. or you have to get there by 6 am, park your car in line outside the prison, wait until 7:30 then you pull inside the prison grounds and the guard gives you a visiting pass with a number on it. Then you come back at 10am, stand or sit (we used to bring chairs! ) and wait until your number is called. They call all appts. first up until 10:00 appts, then they start calling numbers 10 at a time. You have to call on Mon, Tue, or Wed, between 11am and 1pm to get an appt for the following weekend, not this one. They book 2 weeks ahead.
It is really hard to get through to the visiting line. You have to hit redial constantly and then yu still may not get through. You can get there later and go inside to get your pass, but the later you go, the higher your number will be, and then you may not get in until noon. It is a real pain.
As far as the money order goes, you just send it straight to him, and they will get it. It has to be a post office money order though. Nothing else is accepted.

now i know what you mean i started calling at 11 and just got busy signal i kept calling but was busy all the way till 1:00 they say i have to get a appointment cuss he's in the hole going to try again tomrrow hopefully i'll get through before wed really miss my son alot and thanks alot for answering my question

:( If he is in the hole, then that is the only way you can visit him. You will have to make an appt and make sure you tell them he is in the hole. You will get a one hour visit behind glass only, so you HAVE to make an appt.

I forgot. If you don't tell them he is in the hole, then you will get a regular appt., and that will not work for your visit. It has to be an ad-seg appt, or once you get there, you will be denied your visit. There are 2 sets of rules for regular contact visits, which also includes behind glass visits for non-ad-seg, (which means they get more than one hour) and then ad-seg rules. Make sure you ask them and you get the right appt! :thumbsup:
