MTsFab5 08-06-2005, 06:06 PM Hi there,
Yes, I can try to answer as many questions as possible about DACC...My husband has been in there since April and will be finished and will be coming home mid October. It is in Winnebago/Oshkosh and it is an alcohol and drug rehab..He is in the OWI 5th offense+ part of it but I know they have other programs within for other things, drug crimes, etc..It is a 6 month program and once they complete it, they can either go home or depending on circumstances I guess they may be released into a halfway house or something like that...They not only do the treatment component but also do community service and attend AA meetings....From what I know they can be kicked out of the program at any time and put back in a general population prison/jail to finish out their sentence if they are not "working the program" like they are supposed to. Any information you are seeking, just let me know and I can try and do my best to answer your questions. Visiting is twice a week, on Wed. and then depending on where he is located in the building, either Sat. or Sun from 10:30am - 2:30pm.
minn230 08-13-2005, 05:22 PM well thanks for the info u gave me.... My boyfriend gets sentenced on tuesday the 19th and hopefully thats where they are gonna send him.... his PO wants him there for drug treatment... and that would be great because he wouldnt be gone long and he would be close to me and our daughter we live in winnebago county....
minn230 08-13-2005, 05:24 PM oops i should of said tueday aug 19th im really nervous....i hope all goes well because this is really hard and its seems to only get worse...and where he is at now i cant take our daughter to see him because he is not on her birth cert. yet so im working on that now...
BillieJo 08-15-2005, 10:15 PM was it easy to get into this? how high is the demand?
MTsFab5 08-30-2005, 11:31 PM To be quite honest, I really don't know how easy or the demand on this..I am assuming it is a high demand...as I am sure many would want to be sent there in hopes of being let out early...From what I know there is a waiting list and he said guys are in there right now waiting to start the program in January...and that it is very easy to get kicked out of the program and be sent back to serve the remainder of your time. He was sentenced to 16 months and served 6 months before he was transferred to DACC and by graduating in October, his sentence will be cut short by 2 months. The judge in his case said he was eligible for the program at sentencing so maybe that needs to happen before you are considered a candidate? I'm not sure, all I know is its been a long year that is finally coming to an end shortly...Hopefully the program will prove to be a success for him and our family.
BillieJo 09-13-2005, 04:23 PM Charlie has qualified for earned release, as of 2.06 and the program I believe starts up in 4.06... as you can imagine it's quite exciting... and if anyone has any info to share I would really appreciate it! THANK YOU! :grouphug:
carebare 10-24-2005, 02:39 AM my guy starts this program on 10-31. it is a six mo program, and at the end of the six mons, they have to be released with in 30 days of completion. i know that the demand for this program is high. the only reason my guy got in so easily was because he had already served 75% of his time, and was being "good." i dont know much, but would be glad to help where i can.
BillieJo 10-24-2005, 04:00 PM PRAYING for Charlie to get in, in April! please please please....
I know he comes up for his RC in Feb and the program is in April, but since he switched units and got a new worker, she is holding it against him that he refused a bed date in the program at the facility he is at. he didn't want to do it there, cos he can do it at the DACC. I pray he still can!

Ooo, this is a toughie. Are you planning having this child? Are you planning on having a relationship with the father? There are questions you have to ask yourself and decide what you are going to do (if you haven't already made the decision). After this, the next step is to tell your boyfriend. How? The best way that you feel comfortable. He'll have to accept it (even though it may be hard for him at first). If he was willing to let you do this (have sexual contact with others), then he has to be willing to accept the 'consequences'. He may not agree, but that is when you both decide where you two stand.
Good Luck
