I just got a letter saying my husband is going to be transfered to Chino! That was such great news since it's only about a 45 min drive to see him. I was wondering what you all could tell me about CIM? Visiting? Lockdowns? Any information would be great! :D

Hi Jen
My mans been up at Chino for about 8 months both he and I like it. Visiting is real easy on the east yard, central, west and the MSF yard can get a little busy but they move you in pretty fast.
Lockdowns are rare there and you can call direct and get current visiting info.

Overall the level 1 yards are very easy and I've never had any problems, they do strictly enforce the dress code for visitors, but once out on the yard the CO's leave you alone.
Once your husband gets transfered they will keep him in Central reception until he has his final classification hearing. Then they will assign him his final yard. Let me know where he goes and I can give you all the details.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for the information!! :D I actually went both Saturday and Sunday and couldnt believe how great the visiting was! He was in Lancaster for a while and in comparision, Chino is HEAVEN!!
Thank you for the visiting information number, I need to call to see how long a visiting form is good for, my mother filled one out last year and was wondering if it was still good.
Thank you again! I LOVE this web site!!

Hello! :) I'm still new to the whole visiting at Chino, but so far so good. The dress code is pretty standard, no short skirts, no spaghetti straps, no green, no tan, no denim. I wore a peach colored sweater on sunday and was told by a CO in line that I might not get in, said it was too close to orange! I got in tho with no hassle...in just the two days I was there the CO's seem pretty decent. I'm not sure about the Amtrack...dont know where a station is out that way...but have a great visit when you make it out there!! :D

As long as he is a PWC and not in reception. That's what I do every weekend. Well, minus the small amount of time to get in of course.
And bring the full $30.00 cause if your mans anything like my little piggy he'll blow through $20 before noon time :D
PS what yard is your man on?
