I am sure we all ask this question once a month!!

Is anyone have any delays with mail out of Polunsky, or is it I have just been spoilt and now he knows I am coming saving his paper or something :confused:
Just a question I need to ask.... I MISS HIM!!!!!

Hello and of course I am having problems with mail at Polunsky. I am really upset because I am waiting on word on visitation. I have not had mail in over 8 days. To some it may seem as no big deal. But he writes everyday. It seems like for time the mail is okay. Then when it is off, it is truly off. I'll call the unit at 1:00 Pm CST. PM to find out what was said.

Mail has been a bit odd the past few days. he writes every day and I didn't get any mail Tues or Wed but yesterday I got 2. One was post marked the 11th and another was the 12th so I have no idea what is going on. Let me know what happens when you call.

Called and still no answers. I am ready to scream... Is it any other way for them to make life difficult? Please let me know. Also, how long does it take to change the visitation list? For some reason he was under the impression of seven days.

They change there visits lists every six months, and it only takes a few days once they submit it. You can call up and ask to speak to the warden, tell them that you are wanting to book visits, and is his visits list updated yet. They will tell you a fast no if its not the case. :)

Hey I wanted to give you all an update. I just got a letter from there today and he said there was a bomb scare in the mail room so they aren't getting mail either. He said one of the guards told him she 'feels sorry for whoever the inmate is who was sent that package'. He said apparently the bomb scare was real, but I don't know exactly what that means. I am just upset they aren't getting mail either. So it looks like this might last a while! Sorry guys

A bomb scare?! :rolleyes: Oh good Lord! Anyway I am having mail problems too. I haven't been home since Thursday but at least from last Saturday til then I had not received a drop of mail. :( Hopefully it will be back to semi-normal soon!

THAT IS AWFUL... for the inmates and the employees as well. This makes me :angry: cause when this happens it ruins if for all the guys and us to!!!

I know it is awful. He was worried that it was something directed at him because of the publicity he has been getting because of the A&E show, but he said that all the guys think it was directed at them. I mean it is so aggravating when I don't get a letter but I feel so much worse for him (and all the guys there) because that is all they have to look forward to all day. It is just so awful. He said they put them on lockdown as well (to be expected with something like this I guess).

The bomb scare was in the mail room according to Bobby. Something to do with a package sent to an inmate (don't know if it was in GP or DR). He told me in the letter that they 'had been in lockdown for 3 hours' up to when he was writting the letter to me (which is usually late around mail call time so figure 9 or 10 pm) But he made it sound like the lockdown was caused by the bomb scare. He told me to check to see if it was on the news but his letter is dated April 11th. I figure since it is an issue with the mail room that is why dontmatter didn't get an answer about the question. I'll google it and see if I can find any news stories on it.

In reply to the original question, I have a girlfriend whose husband is there (not in Death Row). Her mail is running five days late. Normally, it takes three days and is now taking eight. It has been this way a couple of weeks now.

I got the last letter last week. But the delay for me is always longer, because it takes 6 days just with the postal service us-france..........

They had a delay in the mailroom, someone had sent bullets in the mail, and it was considered a bomb threat, the mail room was in the hands of the federal police, none of them got our mail, we didnt get theirs. Hopefully the person that was doing this has stopped, but mail is running as normal now :D

No I am still in Texas, I have 2 more visits left next week to go, and hanging out with the girls, I think I need to go back to Australia to detox (drinking coffee tonight :) )
