View Full Version : Richard Ramirez and Charles Manson
melmc 04-11-2005, 08:14 PM I know you guys must get a ton of these requests, but none the less I'm going to add to your list! I'm currently earning a degree in behavioral science. I wanted to request interviews with both Richard Ramirez and Charles Manson, and figured that this would be the best place to begin my search. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
JayandMe 04-11-2005, 08:28 PM I think they are both in San Quentin in California aren't they.....I guess try writting them and request a visit with them through the Warden.....you could easily do a search for the phone number
the address is San Quentin State Prison
San Quentin, CA 94974
but you'll need their DOC #'s, you might be able to find that in a search as well under inmate locators or something.
kreepsgirl 04-11-2005, 11:45 PM Last I knew Manson was in Corcoran 1.
03 B&C 04-12-2005, 12:03 AM Mason is in Corcoran for sure. My fiance lived downstairs from him for a long time.
kreepsgirl 04-12-2005, 01:53 AM Reall? I thought he would have to be locked-up for 23 hours. Crazy.
melmc 04-12-2005, 11:10 AM I've found Manson at Corcoran, now I just need to locate Richard at San Quentin. Thanks guys!!!
flygirlaa2 04-12-2005, 11:39 AM Read the book, "Last Victim" By Jason Moss. He pretty much did the serial killer interviews. It also tells you how to go about garnering their interest enough to get an interview. They are pretty much bombarded with people vying for their time and attention.
Also, if you want to write someone who is just as crazy and not as notorious, I am pen pals with someone who doesnt get as much mail. PM me if you are interested.
BabyGia 04-12-2005, 12:32 PM There are 2 other DR inmates, (serial killers), that were interesting cases are: Randy Kraft and Douglas Clark. They are at SQ.
Both were pretty high profile and they are crazy-violent like Ramirez's had been.
Tex Watson, (Manson's side kick) is over at Cal Mens Colony, (I think).
Susan Atkins and Linda Kasabian may also be interesting**

melmc 04-12-2005, 07:30 PM Does anyone know anything about Douglas Clark or Randy Kraft?
flygirlaa2 04-13-2005, 07:02 AM Canadian coalition against the death penalty has pen pal ads. Here is a link to Randy Krafts.

Woody's Girl 04-13-2005, 09:20 AM Linda Kaisabain changed her name and you may not be able to catch up with her, I know that because I just watched Helter Skelter. Taht movie is crazy. (Charles Manson movie)

melmc 04-13-2005, 10:58 AM I've also read that a lot of the members of the Manson "family" have "reformed" themselves, which is why they were not on my original contact list. Flygirlaa2, thank you for the link to Randy Kraft, very helpful! Does anyone else have any suggestions of other lesser known serial killers, I'd probably have a better chance of getting through to them, as I'm sure that they feel they weren't publicized enough, which would be very helpful in my journey! Thanks, guys, for all of your help thus far!!!

Son of Sam is one that comes to my mind.
annat 04-13-2005, 11:55 AM I wrote to Ramirez a few years ago (one letter) and didn't hear back from him until November of last year. If I still had his letter I'd pm you his DC# and all that stuff, but I threw it out :( Sorry.
melmc 04-13-2005, 12:23 PM It's cool, annat, but he did actually write you back? That's cool and inspiring to hear, though it obviously took a couple of years. How did you approach him in your writing? Did you compliment him or just start off asking questions? Just curious as I haven't yet decided how to approach these men...Now, does anyone know how I can reach Edmund Kemper? I know he's either at Vacaville of Maximum Security Folsom Prison. If anyone has any ideas feel free to PM me! Thanks again!!!
remiella 04-13-2005, 01:42 PM Hi Melmc
I have correspondence with two low profile inmates who fit the serial type. One in PA the other in CA. Questioning them is not a good idea. Don't try tricking them into subjects either. It takes a long time to have them open up. Try reading "Mind Hunter" by John Douglas, a retired FBI profiler. Although the book is a mass market paperback it provides some information about their mode of thinking. Understanding their motive for the crime and operational schemes will help you get a glimpse of their realm of functioning. Since you are in the behavioral sciences you already know that they have psychotic episodes and manipulative/charming tendencies along with personality disorders, so you would have to comb thru that.
There are also case files for serial killers at www.crimelibrary.com . Sometimes they refer to the state or prison they are housed so it make your searches easier.
My humble suggestion is that you do not contact high profiled inmates. They have had immunity build up from massive requests. I doubt you could cause their antennas to go up.Peace
annat 04-15-2005, 01:15 AM Melmc,
I was very very interested in serial killers then and just thought I'd write to him and see if he would respond. I know I kept the letter short, probably one page front and back. I don't quite remember what I asked him or said to him....I was 17 then and I told him that up front (maybe that's why he waited to write back?). But the letter he wrote back wasn't really a letter, it was more like a note. It was on a little piece of lined paper and it said something like "Dear Anna, You wrote to me a few years back and I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply. How are you doing? I'm doing the same as always. Have you read any good books lately? I look forward to hearing from you and please sent some pictures." then he signed it. I'm not interested in writing to him anymore so I tore up the letter along with the envelope and threw them away. It kinda creeped me out that he would write to me after such a long time, but at the same time it was like WOW, I can't believe I got a letter from Richard Ramirez!! lol
melmc 04-15-2005, 11:19 AM Hello!
I just wanted to thank all of you, especially Flygirlaa2, BabyGia, and Annat, for all the time and help you have contributed in order to help me get this project rolling. I now have a compilation of 25 names and addresses, more than I ever could've anticipated or wished for. Thank you all so much! I'm very excited to get this rolling, and I'll let you all know how this progresses, though research on these men alone will take up to another three months! Oh well, it will hopefully be very well worth it. I'm very much looking forward to this and will be in touch as I begin to get responses!
THANK YOU!!!!
Melissa
MrsPhil 04-15-2005, 03:54 PM I went to school in New Hampshire with Linda Kasabian. The last I knew she had married and was living there again.
fraulein 04-18-2005, 12:17 PM Tex Watson has been in CMC East for a long long time!.... 25 years ago, In Morro Bay, I was approached be a freak of a girl in a white robe (she was in a cult) and she tried to get me to join them ( I was a kid then) and when I refused to get on the bus, she handed me a book. It was the story of Tex Watson's spiritual redemption... I wish I still had that book!
They like to Move Charlie around because he is such a S*** disturber....

Bob-bi-lu 04-18-2005, 12:57 PM Yes, Tex Watson is at the California Men's Colony (East Facility) in San Luis Obispo, CA and he has been there for years. I always see him in the visiting room with his wife & daughter. He's seems like a very polite man and he's a lot older now.
If you want to contact him you will need to get his cdc#. You can do that by calling the prison directly and asking for inmate records. The number is (805) 547-7900. Then you would address the envelope like this:
Tex Watson (cdc#XXXXXX)
CMC East Facility
P.O. Box 8103
San Luis Obispo, CA 93409
LittleBooDog 04-18-2005, 07:37 PM Sirhan Sirhan is in Corcoran 1 also. Just a tad of fyi. Good luck in your research.
melmc 04-19-2005, 04:39 PM Thank you all. The help just keeps coming here. Research is going on a bit slow, as it's being spaced between the two other courses I signed up for this term, but it's coming along, none-the-less. Good thing I signed up for "Deviance and Violence", a class dealing with nothing but serial killers! Ah, the good life! :)
Grettashouse 05-04-2005, 10:44 PM As long as you are studying Manson I thought I'd turn you onto Sandra Good. She is probably one of the most fascinating women I've ever had the opportunity to learn about. The fact that she was one of the Manson Girls only adds to her allure. I found a lot of information about her in the Media Section of Lynette Frommes site. She gives an insight to Manson that makes you believe that he is the good guy. Amazingly enough I believe that there was a shred of good in him because of her. Lynette also became an object of fascination and I'm at least one that is crossing my fingers for her release this August.
Good Luck and feel free to pm me here and keep me updated on your findings. I'm a bit of a fanatic and I'd love the opportunity to IM with you on the matter. Most folks are very misinformed about the man and his convictions.
Always Gretta
Grettashouse 05-04-2005, 10:56 PM Gary Ridgeway has an interesting story. The Green River Killer. Recently captured, 48 victims and more than twenty years at large. Ted Bundy played an interesting role in the investigation. He seems to be the last of the Big Boy wave and due to the late coming capture hasn't had the attention due a criminal of his stature.
T Santi 05-23-2005, 01:58 AM Have you found out about Richard Ramirez yet ??? If not PM me , I will give you all the info you need to know about him .... take care ..:)
waltin2xhale 05-23-2005, 05:18 AM Saw a special the other day on serial killers and I know Richard is now married and has never done but 1 or 2 interviews. And Mansion will only do an interview with a high profile reporter...This was on P.B.S. but even they could be wrong good luck
Albtraum 11-08-2006, 04:01 AM My info is that he is at :
California Medical Facility
1600 California Drive
PO Box 2000
Vacaville, CA 95696-2000
KimFMAGOO13 11-14-2006, 09:43 PM I Know Manson Is At Corcoran. My Husband Is In The Shu At Corcoran And That Is Where Manson Is Yes They Are Locked Down 23 Hours A Day. You Have To Be Approved To Visit Him And You Have To Make An Appointment. But If Your Some Kind Of Reporter You Don't Need To Make An Appointment Or Be Approved. But You Need Some Kind Of Id Or Documentation Stating Your A Reporter.
Lorenzoismyman 01-15-2007, 03:29 PM If you wanna write to Richard Allen Davis his CDC#D-11903 San Quentin
YapYap 01-16-2007, 05:22 AM Yes, Tex Watson is at the California Men's Colony (East Facility) in San Luis Obispo, CA and he has been there for years. I always see him in the visiting room with his wife & daughter. He's seems like a very polite man and he's a lot older now.

Tex Watson was transferred to Mule Creek in 1997. If you want to write to him you'd better put this on the envelope:
Charles D. Watson CDCR# B 37999
Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP)
P.O. Box 409000
Ione, CA 95640-9000
He also has his own website: http://www.aboundinglove.org
Sandra Good is a total nutcase and still 500% brainwashed. Same goes for Lynette (Squeaky) Fromme but at least she can still formulate coherent sentences.
I think if you want some truth you'd be better off to write to one of the other girls, mainly Susan Atkins. Leslie Van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel don't really respond to mail, but Susan Atkins occasionally does and she's very sincere. Actually, any source is better than Sandy or Squeaky. Charles Manson was/is no saint and doesn't give two hoots about the environment.
YapYap 01-16-2007, 05:29 AM Just read back the thread and I gotta say if you want to do interviews with Manson and/or Ramirez you'll be disappointed. Media contact, all forms and particularly interviews, are banned in California. Probably due to all the TV specials and interviews on the high profile cases (they're afraid it glamorizes the criminals too much). If you write to Manson, you can almost bet he'll write you back. He just loves attention. But interviews, no way.
YapYap 01-16-2007, 05:33 AM I always see him in the visiting room with his wife & daughter. He's seems like a very polite man and he's a lot older now.
Missed this and just noticed, but I think you'll find that friendly old man is Bruce Davis (http://www.manson2jesus.com/bruce_davis.htm) (the link has a picture so you can verify). He's married and has a daugther and indeed aged quite a bit. It's an easy mistake to make, since he too is a "Manson guy" and Tex and Bruce have been housed in CMC together for a long time and were good friends.
But I'm pretty sure you're talking about Davis, not Watson. Watson has 4 kids and I believe he's on good terms and in regular contact with all of them.

roknows14424 01-26-2007, 10:21 PM you might check out Arthur Shawcross here in Ny He was incarcerated in '72 for manslaughter, released in '89 (conditional release), rearrested and incarcerated in '91 for two murder counts, but there were more murders than just the three charges listed on the DOCS web site
Arthur Shawcross 91B0193
Sullivan Correctional Facility
PO Box 116 325 Riverside Dr
Fallsburg, NY 12733-0116
He was known as the Genessee River serial killer. He killed two kids and plea bargained for the first manslaughter charge.
Starting in March 1988, Shawcross began murdering prostitutes in the area, claiming 11 victims before his capture less than two years later. The victims were:
Patricia Ives, 25
Frances Brown, 22
June Cicero, 34
Darlene Trippi, 32
Anne Marie Steffen, 28
Dorothy Blackburn, 27
Kimberly Logan
June Stotts, 30
Marie Welch, 22
Elizabeth Gibson
Dorothy Keller, 59They were usually strangled and battered to death, and were often mutilated as well. Most of them were found near the Genesee River.
All the victims were murdered in Monroe County, except for Gibson, who was killed in neighboring Wayne County.
After the last victim's body was found in January 1990, the police decided not to remove it and instead keep surveillance on the area, based on a psychological profile that suggested the killer would return to the scene.
Shawcross was spotted masturbating as he sat in his car on a bridge over the creek in which the body of his final victim was floating. He was arrested and eventually confessed in custody.
Ghost Tracker D 03-01-2007, 08:44 PM Yes I've been writing to both Shawcross and Manson as well as just about all of the "Manson Family" members for the past few years. They are all very intresting people to chat with. I keep all of their letters scanned into my site for everyone to read and have put alot of people into contact with them. If you need any help just let me know.
