I also use to work there as a C.O., so anything you need to know, just pm me and I will be happy to help. Check in is quite easy. You fill out a form listing inmate name and number, your name and address and your relationship to the inmate. You then take the slip to a desk where a guard checks your ID and checks to see that the inmate is allowed to visit. You are given a token so that you can put your ID, purse, coat, car keys, etc. into a locker. You then go through a metal detector, get your hand stamped, then you walk down a long tunnel to the visiting area. The visiting room is large, cozy and quite attractive. On certain days you can order meals from the cooking school restaurant. The food is fantastic and very reasonable. Good luck on your visit. The following link will give you information on all the Wisconsin Adult Institutions:Division of Adult Institutions (http://www.wi-doc.com/index_adult.htm) I hope this helps.:o stacy n james 06-06-2005, 09:47 AM I don't know if this is true, but some say that you can't have a bra with an underwire in it. True or not? I'd like to know before I go visit my husband. Ken Zee 06-06-2005, 01:59 PM I don't know if this is true, but some say that you can't have a bra with an underwire in it. True or not? I'd like to know before I go visit my husband. You can wear a bra with an underwire, but you will have to remove it before going through the metal detector. Personally I have always found this particular item discriminatory. There certainly isn't any more metal in an underwire than there is a zipper on Jeans. So what's the deal? In Waupun it was noticed that females always made it through the metal detector with the metal underwires when it was a female working the metal detector, but when a well-endowed female came through while a male was on duty, they nearly always failed. Hard to prove a correlation, but it certainly raises ones suspicions. Anyhow, it is a hassle when you wear a bra with the underwires in them. |
