Hello PTO Fam,

I haven't been on in a good while between work and my broken down computer I don't know what was worst. I really missed coming to PTO. Circut City was suposed to be servicing my computer it turned into a 2 week adventure.Enough of that I'm glad to be back!!! I have a question I just recieved a letter from my baby and he wanted me to find out some info on some prisons. He talked to his counselor and told him that he could put in for a transfer in July. he was to be nearer to home. He wanted to know about the facilities : Mid- Orange, Wahkill and Otisville. If anyone has any information on these prisons as far as visits,CO's and basically how are they treated at these particular facilities. Any information will be appreciated.

Grace & Peace

Peace.....I can only speak about Otisville as that was where my Beloved was "housed" prior to his curent placement. The visiting experience was okay...one had the opportunity to sit at a table, side by side or in front of each other. Perhaps the evironment was different because Otisville is a medium facility. I traveled there via Manny Van service...I found it to be no problem. Also I have been really impressed with the political work coming out of Otisville...My Beloved was very much involved and the work continues. Blessings...

Overall Mid-Orange is a decent place. My husband seems to be okay with it. However the programs are of course limited. And from my perspective they are a medium prison that wants to be a max. Sometimes the guards go over board during the visit such as enforcing that rule about the inmate going beyond the green line. when i first started going there they were really lax, but lately they have been more strict in the visiting room, assigning seats, etc.

From what I understand all 3 are real good places to do a bid. I can only speak firsthand about Mid Ornge, b/c I wa there. I wrote a detailed description in the prison forum. Again, as of 2 years ago, they were all good, but things might have changed. I know at M.O., things were changing for the worst, but you never know...gl.

You are in the correct thread. Go in and take a look at the info for each facility.

Also, everyone doesn't have frp's. You have to be at a facility that participates in the program.

I've done all three and from my understanding the only one with FRP is Wallkill.
1. Otisville when my boo was there it was all right the COs were somewhat easy in the visiting room they really never bothered you.

2.Mid-Orange on the other hand the COs have gotten out of hand lately, now upon exiting the facility if they've seen you kissing or hugging (Ladies and I'm not talking out of hand kissing like throwing myself all over the place and really acting indecent, I think that I'm old enough to know what's right and wrong especially if there are kids around, anyway it was just a tap here and there and an I love you hug) you get a paper with quote and unquote a few lines highlighted on the rules and regulations on behavior funny:haha: I should know I got one a few weeks ago so did several other females. The COs actually come up to the table and hand you one there if they want to really bust your chops. And DaWifey is right the green line move don't let your boo go beyond that line you can forget it. Anyway they have many new COs so they are sort of going by the book and really enforcing the rules.

3.Wallkill was really and i mean really relaxed you could sit anywhere you wanted the COs don't bother you so you felt more at ease. Well I hope this info helped you somewhat psnvyd

We've been at all three too and I would rank them in order of preference:

1. Wallkill
2. Otisville
3. Mid-Orange
