hey
well, my mom told me that my guy called a cuople weeks ago and that he had been moved from matsqui to mountain (both in BC). he didn't tell her why or anything, she just said they chatted and he was in segregation and didn't know when he would be able to call again. plus i work shifts and am on call, so i am fairly hard to get ahold of.
anyway, he called last night and i guess he was moved becuase he was stabbed and had to get a bunch of stitches. he is fine but apparently he is being blamed for the whole thing and he was supposed to come up for parole in may and now will not be. i mean, i don't doubt that he had something to do with the whole fight, but come on, he was the one who got stabbed. arrghhh
and, he has been marked as umcompatible by a bunch of guys who moved from matsqui to mountian, so they are saying that they are going to move him to mission. as well, he needs surgury and they say he has been nooked in for it but won't tell him a date. who know so he can't plan to escape after having back surgury.
anyway, its all just been really frustrating
just needed to stress

Girl, I know how u feel, I alwasy worry about my man! I know they wont tell him the date until it actually happens. Its messed up but theres not much we can do!!! I hope things work out!! Jill

so sorry to hear about your guy,hope he is ok. how can they hold your guy responsible if he is the one getting stabbed? makes no sense. hang in things will work out alright.

Hey magoo - sorry to hear your guy got hurt. They were locked down for some time over that. Sounds like everything is settling down some, though - and he really is going to be fine.

As far as him getting 'blamed' - it's hard to grasp the inmate politics and code sometimes they take the fall for stuff that's not their fault... sometimes, compelled by the artificial society of prison, they just do stupid stuff ~ and don't wanna sheepishly admit it!

but, from what I know, guys DO actually get blamed by other inmates for not 'hiding an injury', at least until it's already old enough that no one can connect it to the source ! ~ they are expected to keep it under cover for a day or two, even a stab wound - then say he 'fell' on his fork, or something... isn't that twisted #*&$ ? Really I'm not joking. If they get caught getting beaten on, them they are ironically 'blamed' and hated by the others for showing it was from an 'assault' at all, as it causes a big lockdown and searches and lots of lost 'stuff' and missed visits and disruption and generally 'pissed off' people. The cause of the actual 'fight' generally gets lost in the backwash. Sick eh?

and for an example of the innane stuff that causes fights, though, from what I understand of another, different, recent incident, 'Someone' called 'Somebody' a Bad Name in front of Everyone (eewwwwohhhh-gasp) so 'Somebody' felt obligated to display his testosterone, and immediately stab 'Someone' with the nearest available sharp object. No ongoing vendetta or premeditated predatory actions involved - just dumb 'tough-guy-scrapping-shit'. Things like that can be construed as poor 'adjusting', I guess, though. (Moral of the story - never call Anyone a Bad Name!?)

Prison is a messed up place, man.

I hope you're not letting the worry eat at you, girl - he's gonna be okay... as far as the parole board goes - yeah, this will be interpreted however they see fit, which can be infuriating, I understand...
