My son is a inmate at Keene Mtn, he is 32 years and I miss him more than I can even say.We are fortunate that he is close enough that we can visit weekly.

Welcome to the site!! I'm often amazed at the lack of activity on the VA site. Chris's mom said it was busy before, maybe all those peoples loved one are home now? As many people as I see when I visit my husband, you can clearly see that we are out there!!! Maybe alot of people don't know about PTO, or don't have access to the internet. I don't know but I would like to see more. Maybe the reason that there is not a big turn out at these General Assembly meetings is because people don't know about it. I would have no ideas unless I was on the internet. I wonder if there is anyway to distribute flyers or what not at our loved ones correctional facilities. Do you think that is allowed? I would stand outside for an extra hour or so to let people know there help is needed to get this bill passed in the general assembly.

The petition could get alot of signatures if we could have visitors sign it at the correctional facilities. If people could get a package and have people sign when they go visit there loved ones. We could get ALOT of signatures that way. I wonder if there is a way to do it? Call the DOC and get permission or sneak and do it?

I don't think DOC is going to let you do that. Their mission is to keep inmates,not to release them early for sure!

We are all human. It is enough hating and wrong in this world. I over hear teens also say "don't be hating". As far as I am concerned I care about everyone rather they care or not. We all are United as one and I myself do not like someone trying to over ride another. I am for the under dog, I am for freedom, I am for what is right and not about what is wrong. This is not about me, it is we, united as one. I know I worry some people to the edge of probably I do not know what. I only want it better for us all. I cannot stand the pain, suffering, crying, fighting, begging for human rights, beggin for our families, all the stuff we stand for. It is for our future, our children's future. I am not trying to compete, I do not hold a candle to others. I can make a differance if I make an effort no matter what people think. Have we not felt the pain? Does it always got to be pain? I cannot set and do nothing no more. I want along with so many others a better way. I do not want to be a slave to this country and the wrong of humans no more.

Hi, I'm here in Richmond, Va. but my son is in Milan Michigan. That is 10 plus hours away. Anyone else in Va. have loved one's in Milan? If so, PLEASE message me. Maybe we could car pool for a visit with our loved ones this summer. Nice to see so many are here in good ol Va.

What county is Keen Mountain located in? I have heard of it but never knew where it is located? Is it a large prison?

Keen Mountain is in Oakwood, VA and is a Level 4 facility with about 900 guys. It is in Buchanan County.
