Please if anyone knows how to guide me to what and where I need to go. My brother has been locked up since he was 15 yrs old and he in now 41 yrs old. He is in a Ark prison and we need some legal help. Trail? Didnt have a fair one, was forced to pled guilyt or they would fry him in electric chair, there is no papers from his court. Does this make sence. I need help, we can;t aford a lawyer, our parents or getting up there in ago, he is so far away I have only seen him 2 times in 25 yrs. If anyone can guide me to where I can seek help, I really appericate it. A desperate sister. :idea:

I moved your post to the regular Arkansas forum. It's nice that you're getting involved, hopefully you're sending him mail and maybe you can visit more often -those are really the best things you can do!!

Unfortunately, if you take the plea, you can't fight it. You'd have to go thru the regular clemency processes to get him out. Lots of people take the plea because they get scared (They're told jury will lock them up for life, etc) and then they want to fight the plea later and say they have a bad attorney, were scared, etc. But it doesn't matter. Once you plead guilty, that's it. Sorry for that news!

Several of us here have loved ones in Tucker. Is he in Tucker Max or "regular" tucker?

If he has been in that long, and it's not for Capital Murder, there's a chance for Clemency. Our governor has come under fire lately as he will let almost anyone out of prison. Like Julie says, if he plead guilty, then he is stuck, and at 15? He must have done something that the courts saw as really bad. Give us some info on his charge, the county he was charged in, and the year and I'll have a friend look into it, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Our prison system is screwed up here.
