Explosion in Nakhon Ratchasima's central prison, no casualties NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Apr 5 (TNA) - An explosion was heard inside a central prison in Thailand's northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima this morning.
The explosion, which took place at 05:55 a.m., caused a fire which was quickly put under control by prison staff, damaging only a small part of the prison, accdording to the provincial governor, Pongpayom Vasaphuti.
There were no reports of any casualties.
Local police rushing to the Klong Phai Prison are investigating the cause of the explosion.
Initial reports said that the explosion was likely to be caused by a home-made bomb hidden inside an inmate's locker.
