Hi. I am new here. My 18 year old son is currently in county prison awaiting sentencing. This is a really rough time, as I am sure you all know. I am just looking for some support, some words of wisdom to help me through this time. Hopefully in the future, I can help someone else new to this nightmare cope. Thanks for listening and I think I will make new friends here who can relate to my situation.

Hi Joyce,
Just wanted to say welcome. I just joined a few days ago but it already feels like family to me. It is great to have somewhere to go where the people understand and are supportive. I have a 19 year old son that was just sentenced last week. I am hoping that you and I can help each other get through this rough time together. Take Care and keep posting.

Hey Joyce, you will find that this place is alright, actually, it's fantastic. There are a lot of people in different situations and there always seems to be someone that will have answers somewhere. But, most of all, when you need someone just to say I love you and I care...this place is it.

I TOO HAVE A SON IN PRISON..... IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY, BUT I WILL SAY, HE HAS LEARNED A GREAT LESSON AND HAS BECOME A BETTER MAN SINCE HIS YOUTH.... I WISH HE COULD HAVE DONE IT OUTSIDE RATHER THAN WHERE HE IS, BUT IT DID NOT WORK THAT WAY..... HE IS A VERY LOVING, CARING INDIVIDUAL AND HAS EVEN MET HIS NEW FIANCEE WHILE INCARCERATED... SHE WORKED FOR THE DOC.... HE WAS 24 WHEN HE WENT TO PRISON, HE IS NOW 37.....

MY HEART ACHES FOR YOU.... I SURE WISH YOU PEACE... I KNOW THAT IS HARD TO FIND AT THIS POINT, BUT IT WILL COME.

Welcome to PTO. The only advice I can give you is that our loved ones tend to get pretty frustrated and edgy just before sentencing, don't take it personally. Good luck to your son and God Bless to you both.

Welcome from me too!! My husband was just recently sentenced...each day that passes you are one day closer to him being home :D...look foward to getting to know you better and just know we are all here for you!
