My Mom taught me this trick today,it really amazed me.I just bought new carpet, and my nephew knocked over a lit candle, and the wax just spilled everywhere. It dried so quickly,I thought my carpet was ruined.Well, she took a piece of cheesecloth, and ran a hot iron over the spill. The wax transfered right off the carpet, onto the cloth. You cant even tell there was a spill.:)

You can also use a brown paper bag for this same purpose.

If you get it on your clothes (don't ask) you can also boil them and it comes out.

OK let me get this right you put the brown paper bag down over the spill and run the heated iron over the bag?? I was getting ready to ask also where to buy a cheese cloth (not to knowledgable about those things) because I have had a candle spill on my carpet for awhile now and have eventually moved a coffee table over it so as to hide it....does it work on spills that have been there awhile as well??? Come on everyone tell me I need to learn things like this...lol wish I had this info awhile back just in case its too late NOW to save the carpet!!

You may have to run the iron for a little longer, just keep checking. You can pick up cheesecloth at the market,or a dept. store like WalMart. But try the bag first, save some $.

What about getting wax off of a dresser? I wouldn't think that it would work the same way would it?
Ok...call me an airhead, but how high do you turn the iron up...i can see me catching the paper bag on fire! LOL!
