View Full Version : Bats will be cracking!
Slainte 04-01-2005, 08:52 PM The baseball season gets underway officially this weekend.
My beloved WORLD CHAMPION Red Sox are NY-bound to open the season against the Yankees... and I can't wait! :yay:
I already snagged tickets to three games. Not bad considering what a hot commodity they are after selling-out last year and winning the World Series. I love kicking back on a summer night in Fenway watching the boys from Boston play.
GO SOX!!!
sweetpea 04-02-2005, 10:04 PM Oh boy oh boy Slainte, don't you know that your red luck has just RAN OUT babygirl??? Can't wait either....maybe you won't have to wait quite as long as last time for your next world championship:)
sweetpea 04-02-2005, 11:08 PM Bwaaah what is going on here?!!? Where is MY Possee darnit?? :blah:
Slainte 04-03-2005, 09:52 AM GO SOX! GO SOX! GO SOX!
I love you back Sweetpea, but the Yankees reign of terror is over!!
As the bumper sticker says:
I support the Red Sox and whoever beats the Yankees!
Yeah, Titiantoo - I wouldn't mind not having to wait a lifetime again! :)
bella 04-03-2005, 05:14 PM I'm right here Sweetpea!!!
Don't you worry.
Oh Slainte...IT"S ON BABY and it aint gonna happen twice in the next 40 years either :)
Talk to you when you're crying tonight during the 7th inning stretch
bella 04-04-2005, 11:18 AM Slainte,
Why didn't you answer your phone when I called at the bottom of the 8th??? Huh? HUH?
I didn't think you would.....have another beer...things will be ok LMAO
Here's a definition for ya:
fluke ( P ) Pronunciation Key (flk)
n.
A stroke of good luck.
A chance occurrence; an accident.
Games. An accidentally good or successful stroke in billiards or pool.
Remember, Even though David Wells is wearing #3 he much rather be playing for the Yankees, said it himself LMAO
titantoo 04-04-2005, 11:50 AM Can't wait either....maybe you won't have to wait quite as long as last time for your next world championship:)
But then again....maybe you will!!!!
I am hoping not to wait at all for my Yankees to be the next world champions.
Slainte 04-04-2005, 12:00 PM LOL - yeah, yeah, yeah...
Look it you two... it's QUALITY that matters, not QUANTITY :D... You and your Yanks may have all these championships but they'll never have a comeback like the Sox did last year... they'll never have one for the history books.
Oh... and I'm not upset about last night's loss. It's pretty typical that the Sox lose the season opener, and it's typical that they lose the home opener, too. It's a long way til October, my friends!
Bella, I didn't hear the phone, then saw it was YOU after the game... so I wasn't hiding from you :D Besides, it's in your own best interest that I didn't answer because you know from last year that's when the Sox start scoring - when we start talking during a game ... so consider it a gift! :D
bella 04-04-2005, 12:09 PM Never have one for the history books? What are you smoking girlie??? We are in EVERY history book, we've made history over and over again for having the most penants and most WS wins...you crack me up.
Thanks for the so called gift but I highly doubt the Red Sux could have come back with one inning left and a score at 6-1.
You're a silly silly girl maybe that's why I still like ya.
Phil in Paris 04-04-2005, 02:37 PM It's on again ?????????? How often do those World Series take place in a year ??? It seems to me like it was only a few months ago that the Red Sox paid everybody to get the victory !!! :hmm:
GO YANS, GO YANKS, GO YANKS !!!!! :yay: :yay:
Phil
bella 04-04-2005, 06:41 PM The world series happens every Oct. but the actual baseball season starts in April and they play games until two teams are the champs of each divison, the American League and the National League. The winners of each league play in the world series.
check this out it has different areas you can read that actually explain the game

That's right Phil...GO YANKEES!!!
See Slainte...we even got the French on our side!!!
California Sunshine 04-04-2005, 07:03 PM Bahahahahaha! Personally I don't care either way about any of them (not even the SF Giants or Oakland A's who are the closest teams to me wait do sacramento Rivercats count? Nah I don't think so) but just had to say you guys are cracking me up!!

Oh great... you KNOW when we start getting all technical his cute little French head starts spinning :D :p
See Slainte...we even got the French on our side!!!
Yeah, well don't forget... he was once a Red Sox fan, but he's in looooooove with a Yankees fan, hence his wavering allegence!
BTW... our little friend in Bowling Green says you're a closet Boston fan :D
Just think Cali... the season just started. There's six months worth of bantering back and forth to be had here!
titantoo 04-04-2005, 07:26 PM LOL - yeah, yeah, yeah...
they'll never have a comeback like the Sox did last year..
Its easy to have an exceptional comeback if you lose for nearly 90 years!
bella 04-04-2005, 07:27 PM Allegence...something they know so well in Yankee town!
And besides I'd have to say I cannot imagine Phil in love with a dude from Bawston...just SO not his type ;)
YANKEE PRIDE BABY!!!
A closet Red Sux fan??? Wait till his punk a** calls me on Wed. night, I might just have to hang up on his sorry Bu*t.
He'll for sure hear my mouth about that one.
Maybe he just wishes he had some more real friends and just can't accept the fact that those standing by him are from NEW YORK so he's lying to himself and everyone else.

GO YANS, GO YANKS, GO YANKS !!!!! :yay: :yay:
Phil
Bwwwah....you are such a "switch hitter" - quoting Frenchy from last year...no more switching Mister!! :p
Slainte I was going to text you during the game but I figured you would be tuning yourself out from the rest of the world...and I feel so bad for you since you still think you have a chance....no more lucky breaks for you missy!!!
bella 04-04-2005, 07:27 PM Titantoo...
EXCELLENT POINT!
Slainte 04-04-2005, 08:00 PM Its easy to have an exceptional comeback if you lose for nearly 90 years!
ahem - 86 years, thank you very much :D
And, it wasn't the 86 year gap that made for the exceptional comeback... it was the fact that we came back from 0-3 to win it... can you guys and gals say CHOKE!!!
See, the problem with you silly Yankee fans is that you have become soooo used to winning, that you don't appreciate it anymore. It's become routine to you, and you expected to win last year. The thing with Sox fans is that we appreciate our win... we know the pain and suffering first hand... it means soooo much more to us!
Phil in Paris 04-04-2005, 09:27 PM Gosh Jess, you mean we must wait another 86 years to see you brag and show off and bounce around all over PTO ???? :hmm:
I'm not sure I could type any congrats by then due to my artritis (sp?) :D
Phil :p
California Sunshine 04-04-2005, 09:45 PM :D Phil you'll still be alive in 86 years? :D
Ms.Heather 04-05-2005, 03:02 AM I'm here Jess!!!!
Awww Jess, They are Yankee fans! All they know how to do is yack yack yack yack...
What can ya do? SO what, they got more pennants blah blah, Red Sox suck... its the same ol arguemnet by the Yank fans, but truth of it all is... WE came back from 0*3, beat them 4 games in a row, celebrated on their turf and went to sweep the world series. They are still gonna argue that it took us 86 years to get that pennant... its old. Find something new to say about the sox...
And C'mon , the Yankees went down in the history books... As the team that choked!!!
Like Jess said... its a long long long way to October. I'll save my crap slinging till atleast August.
Heres to another excellent season.
bella 04-15-2005, 01:24 PM Blah Blah BLah
You Bawstonians think you are so cool and a big fat fan tries to hit a player...nice!
Try that in Yankees Stadium and see if a riot doesn't start. DRUNK IDIOT!
Slainte 04-15-2005, 10:38 PM ehhhh... I don't know... the more I look at the tape, the more I don't think it was intentional... but, I don't understand why the guy who dumped the beer on Sheffield wasn't ejected too... Kudos to Sheff for restraining himself...
Good series... and I see the Yanks got slaughtered tonight :D ;)
GO SOX!
emsrescue20 04-16-2005, 08:52 AM Time to weigh in....I'm a Yankee fan, always have been, always will be, and looking at the tape over 25 times in the past few days I have to agree that he was merely following the path of the ball in the hopes of getting one. It was purely an accident that he hit him, but what restraint!!
As for beer guy, he was a coward, as most Boston fans are and should have been ejected too :D
Just remember...numbers don't lie...buck foston!!
Slainte 04-18-2005, 07:25 AM Just remember...numbers don't lie...buck foston!!
lol - yep, that's right, numbers don't lie... and with the Yank's 4-8 record I see they're off to their worst start since 1991!!! :ha: *snicker, snicker* :D
emsrescue20 04-18-2005, 02:13 PM The nightmares of last season are slowly coming back to me! At least my fantasy league team is doing terrific...lol
CRAZY4ALBERT 04-18-2005, 04:16 PM Hows About Them Dodgers! Go Dodgers!!!!
