We found out the other day that my husbands security level was a 20 and thats why he was denied Benton W/R. He talked to a lady at his unit and she told him that for every year that he is a class 1 his score should drop. It should also drop for every class he had taken and completed. NO ONE has been keeping up with his stuff therefore his level has never dropped below a 20. After he told her about all of the classes hes completed and how long hes held his class she told him she could get him maybe as low as a 10! You need to have you loved ones go and check what their security level is and make sure they are getting credit for all of the positive things they are doing. My husband talked to the classification lady so I would suggest your loved ones go to whoever is their classification person and check the level. It may not be a big deal for them right now but it will be when they try to apply for something later on and are denied because their level is to high. My husband has been locked up for 8 years and didnt even know his level could drop.

I posted a reply under the work release thread, but this thread is the one I talk about that inspired me to write the warden of Mississippi Co. Work Release! To make a very long story short, my husband had been in before and had gotten a disciplinary at MCWR and was shipped to another unit untilk his release. Well, this timein, he has been a model inmate who has voluntarily taken every self-improvement type course offered to him at Varner. He was even moved into the faith-based barracks down there! He is dedicated to changing his life for us so that he won't be tempted to go back to his old ways when he is released. Anyway, when he put in for WR, he was denied due to a 'poor inmate jacket'. After reading this thread, I thought maybe they don't have all the information on all the hard work he's been doing. SO...I wrote a letter to the warden (I included a copy in my other post) and sent him copies of all the certificates my husband had sent home. A couple of weeks later, my husband got a letter saying he'd been selected for MCWR and that they'd be there in a few days to get him! Thanks for being such an inspiration to me...you all have helped our entire family! I love you all!!!

Yes my husbands score was dropped from a 20 to a 1 but ONLY after I called George Brewer. That was about 3 maybe 4 weeks ago. We still havent heard anything about WR yet. I am glad that this thread has helpd some of you. Just wish some of the good luck would blow this way. We REALLY need something to go our way for a change. Its getting really hard on me out here. Lot of bad moods lately. Not to mention our son broke his arm last Saturday during a ballgame and now heres me another bill. Anyway..Stacy have yall heard anything else about the amount of time before Matthew can get a paying job?
