Yes, there should be profiles. I visited Greene in 2001 and 2002, but I'm sure there are more people who have been there more recently than me.

Yes, they can buy photo tickets to get a pic taken on the yard and they can be bought when you visit too. Packages can be mailed or brought in on a visit. MCI does do pre paid phone accts too. They are allowed to use the phone when they have free time.

could you plz tell me how the mci phone plane works? Also how long does it take for all the appeal paper work to go through and when going to court for this could he get even more time?
05-08-2005, 06:25 PM
It can usually be done over the phone for the MCI phone calls.
05-08-2005, 07:22 PM
How do calls work for our loved ones?
For State Correctional Max and Medium facilities:
They must call you collect, basically MCI handles all the collect call in New York and calls are about $7.80-8.60 for 30 mts. You can call MCI, or you can call your local telephone company to have this turned on. I pay through my company Verizon.
The number for MCI is 800-844-6591 - Make sure you don't the have the caller block option/anonymous call rejection enabled on your phone. You may have to fax them proof of ID.

Thank you i will have to be making a phone call then. Also does anybody know how often they get to spend the money that we send to them? Also Mrs. G do you know anything about the DEG program? iF so could you please let me know. Also when we go to visit do i have to wear sneakers or can i wear like a sandle type shoe with a heal on it? Also are the pants aloud to be tight. Because that is all i wear. Tight jeans or black dress pants. I think we all know how that goes. Can i wear a tank top with like a net shirt over it? Also do i have to take off all rings earring necklecese bracelets and bellybutton rings? Please let me know so i have an idea. I want to look good when i go visit him but i don't want to have to have everyone wait for me in line or wear the wrong thing and have to go change. Also around what time should i be there on visiting days so that i will get a good number to go in and have my visit. ANy info would help, Thank you

He can ask in the prison about taking his GED, most inmates are required to take it anyway. He has an account where is money is kept and he can use it for comisary to buy food and personal items. He should be able to find out about all this where he is.
You have to find out what the rules are about dressing at the facility where you go, call them and ask them - But basically, nothing see through, no tank tops, no short skirts, and maybe not sandals. THIS DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU GO.
You have to take your jewelry off to go through the metal detector.
Look around here and read through things and you will find a lot of these questions are answered.
This is a link to the BASIC RULES:

does anybody have someone in green correctional facility that is from NY? PLease reply thank you

sweetie, I understand you must be nervous at all the new things and what to do, but you are asking so many questions and not giving anyone a chance to answer them, and if you looked around ALMOST ALL of your questions have answers already, be patient and read around the forum. Maybe think of a few questions, write them down and search for the answers or write a few at a time. and THEN post them here, OK?

when getting inmate pants what type can we get them?
05-16-2005, 06:42 PM
you cannot get them pants, they wear state green pants, but for going out to the yard you can get them jogging, sweat pants. Red or Brown, or Burgundy, colors like that, refer to the Package room guideline to see what you can bring.good luck.
