My son will graduate from his SAP program tomorrow. I can ask him if he knows about that one when he calls me. He wasn't very impressed with the one that he has completed. He told me that it really had a very absurd idea of treatment. Hopefully, it helped him in some way, though. I'm not sure...I'll ask my husband when he gets home from work this afternoon. I know he went through the Crime Bill program at Ventress many moons ago. I've also heard him mention the therapeutic community programs but I'm not exactly sure what it is or if it's any different than the Crime Bill. Anyway, I'll ask him for you tonight! :) DeniseJ 03-31-2005, 08:17 AM Wait...Kenny was in TCC back 8 or 9 years ago at Limestone(i think)..any way, its a drug program, more intense that Crime bill, the ones in the class live in a separte dorm and have more privilages than "regular" inmates. the program deals with other things outside of drug abuse, things like communications with others, respect for others, I'll have to get more details from Kenny but he has always spoke highley about TCC Lysbeth 03-31-2005, 12:13 PM Unless they have started something new, St. Clair is the only facility that has Therapeutic Community. The non-crime bill SAP programs at some other places (like Limestone) are run somewhat like TC and some of the people who started them are TC graduates. But as of last summer anyway St. Clair was the only facility that had the actual TC program, this I know because my guy was accepted into it but ended up not going due to the parole hearing/etc. baldwinlady 04-05-2005, 05:56 PM My son was sentenced to St Clair Long Term Theraputic Community. It is also my understanding this is the only TC program available in Alabama. I got alot of info under myposting 3/1/05 (I thought the Judge had the final say) check it out it has alot of info about the program. Good luck |
