I just wanted to share with y'all how proud I am that I *finally* got my backyard all cleaned up and mowed down! :yay:

we used to have these lil boys from our neighborhood come and mow the lawn like every 2 or 3 weeks. we stopped having them come so the grass has been growing since january! :eek: I finally went and bought an electric lawn mower with a bag on it, and mowed it ALL down myself! :D

im posting pix of what it looked like before. LOL it doesnt look like that anymore! It took me a few hours over 2 days, but my new little lawnmower is IMPRESSIVE! it mowed down those 7 foot tall weeds like nobody's business! I had to empty the bag like 3,957 times (j/k lol ;) ) haha but its done! anyways thanks for listening to my story! :p

oh my goodness, nobody cares about my pretty backyard. :cry: not even a 'you go girl'.... :( lol!

I bet it looks real nice. I'm sure your very proud. I know I am when I mow our yard. Boy what a chore! I'll sure be glad when my husband comes home.

I have to do mine myself now that the ex isnt around and let me tell ya the first time I had to do it after winter it was horrid! It was so tall and full of weeds that my lawnmower kept dying and I was standing out there crying and cussing out the ex for not being here to do it!

cali, aww girl i am glad to hear from you! try to find some kids from your neighborhood that are willing to do the yard work for you. we had some boys coming and paid them $5 a yard, so $10 total to do the front and the back. they stopped coming around but they kinda had bad manners anyways, and I didnt like that. :no:

even though its alot of work, its soooo worth it to own our own homes! Id rather do yardwork on my own house any day, rather than paying rent like I used to. :o

I wish it could hold off for another month and a half for my man to do it but I think I will have to get my lazy butt out there and do it myself :(. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow :thumbsup: . OH! sorry Cali, for some reason I thought you owned a house. :o and i feel ya on the lawn mower dying, lol the first time i used mine, it was in the front and I was all embarrassed cause we only have like 4 square feet of grass lol and it STILL took me like an hour! it kept shutting off and i couldnt figure out why. i was greatly annoyed! :banghead:

okay LOL im replying all out of order... :rolleyes: omg girly you are funny! yeah, we lost the neighborhood kids in the jungle that we call the backyard...haha! :haha:

and as for parents, my mom and I own our house together, and when it comes time for yardwork she likes to tell me she just rents a room from me, that I am the only homeowner. uh-huh, shes a joint owner up until theres work to be done! ;) lol she does her best though, she can clean the inside and I'll do the outside! :)

LOL you guys are too funny. What is really funny is I was standing outside on the phone yesterday waiting for my puppies to use the bathroom. Well I looked up and one of my doggies was gone so I started freaking out running all over the front and back yard trying to find her. I finally stopped in one spot and started calling her. Then I see her head pop up out of the grass LOL. She was there the whole time and I just couldn't see her cause the grass is too tall. I wish I could wait til he came home to mow it but I am having company next week so I am going to have to break down and do it :(. But after that no more yard work for me, that is one of his chores :).

i know girl i hear ya! its my babys job when he comes home too, no doubt! LOL and hey a puppy is little, but my dog is like 60 pounds, and stands about 3 feet high on all 4 legs, and SHE got lost in the weeds! now thats sad! lol :p

I dont mind doing yard work but I havent cut it this yr. So it was getting a little thick---I came home from work one day this week and my poor mother was out finishing up the back yard. I felt so back. To make it worse she was letting my youngest son ride with her and he knocked her cell phone off and she ran over it. Brand new flip phone. SOOOOO she had to go home get a shower and go back into town to buy a new phone. SHe came over last night and I paid her for the new phone--she argued and didnt want to take it but dang, she cut the grass for free and had to buy a new phone!!

awwww girl what a nice mom you have! my mom is outside pulling weeds as we speak, lol. our moms never stop taking care of us, do they? ;)

I live in the middle of rattlesnake heaven, so my yard is kept short at all times!!!! I have about ten acres to mow here. I love getting on that tractor for hours though. My landlords pay me to mow all of this, so it is a little extra money, though they haven't paid me this month yet!

PS-Actually it is-"You know your a redneck when you cut your grass and find several old junk cars":)

I live in total redneck country, know them all.
