A while ago a new policy about permission for inmates to call overseas was given out. Now I`m really interested to learn if someone already got one and how it worked for the one who applied for a call and also any experience with the call itself like time restriction. I know about the general rules for phone calls, but now I heard as well that they could sit in visitation using the phone there. Any advice would be appreciated, cause I would be so glad if it would be possible for my boy-friend to call me one day. Thanks!

Mimi7 -- you might PM Ladyarkles -- she is in Singapore and I know she got a call from Dennis just before his Texicution. She can probably give you a lot of good information.

I had an overseas call from Polunsky. You need to be on there visitation list to be allowed to recieve a phone call. They are allowed 5 minute calls, every 90 days, but it is usually longer than 90 days. They recently changed the rules, where the Captain of the unit needs to pre approve them, and they have only been running them on a Saturday afternoon lately, so it is taking alot longer to get the calls. Your friend needs to put in a phone call request to get permission to call, and they will allow it, only if you are on his visits list.
A 7 minute call to Australia cost $21. I hope this helps some :)

Oh, the visitation phones are only internal, so you can hear each other at visits.
