View Full Version : Free Credit Report? 1dayatatime 03-20-2005, 04:31 PM I want to check my credit, where can I get a copy of my credit report for FREE not membership blah blah blah suprises??? ONE brownshuga27 03-26-2005, 12:13 AM go to www.annualcreditreport.com it's free!!!! you have to click on your state, it will tell you when it's free for your state. you have to register also, but it's still free. you can see your credit report right then and there and you can print it out! Slainte 03-26-2005, 01:02 AM That site is not totally accurate... it says Massachusetts won't be available for free through their site until Sept. 05, yet it is free for Mass. residents every 12 months. Actually, the following states have laws that make free credit reports available to consumers: Colorado, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Vermont. Make sure you get the reports from all three credit report agencies: Experian, TransUnion and Equifax, as the information should match on all of them. Equifax Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc P.O. Box 740241 Atlanta, GA 30374 To order report: 1-800-685-1111 To report fraud: 1-800-525-6285 Web site: www.equifax.com (http://www.bankrate.com/brm/frames/hyperlink.asp?link_address=http://www.equifax.com) Experian (formerly TRW) National Consumer Assistance Center PO Box 2002 Allen, TX 75013 To order report: 1-888-397-3742 To report fraud: 1-888-397-3742 Web site: www.experian.com (http://www.bankrate.com/brm/frames/hyperlink.asp?link_address=http://www.experian.com) TransUnion LLC Consumer Disclosure Center P.O. Box 1000 Chester, PA 19022 To order report: 1-800-888-4213 To report fraud: 1-800-916-8800 Web site: www.transunion.com (http://www.bankrate.com/brm/frames/hyperlink.asp?link_address=http://www.transunion.com) Wingy 03-26-2005, 05:53 AM thanks, Jess...this is what i have been looking for!!! babieboo 03-26-2005, 06:24 AM I DID THE ANNUALCREDIT REPORT THINGY AND ITS FREE FOR 30 DAYS. It was great not being charged for it. Thanks again. Love, Sheila:thumbsup: LAT 05-03-2005, 04:55 PM One note for anyone working on cleaning up your credit. The law says that a credit reporting agency has 30 days from the time you dispute something to investigate and respond. When using the free credit reports that are rolling out state by state, you are waiving the 30 days and agreeing to 45 days for them to respond. It makes a little difference in giving them 15 more days to investigate and respond. You can usually get a free credit report by prequalifying for a home loan. asweetangel99 05-30-2005, 10:34 PM You can order your credit report free due to a new law that was passed. Hey if you want to access you credit report you can do it from this website. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/credit/ycr_free_reports.htm |
