my brother is in the central unit right now he has been there for like 2 years now... from what he says it is ok in the summer they spend most of the time on lock down becuz of heat but unit doesnt right? anywayz we have delt alot with the warden he is new some weekends he says kids cant sit with inmate then the next it is different! some of the guards at visition are cool there is this one real big white boy he is an a$$ hole! but anywayz we also have delt with the lt he is real nice!!! we have had alot of issues trying to get custody of my brothers kids and like we wouldhave to have a paper signed by him before the next day and my mom would call they would let her bring it down there and one of the guards would take it to him and sign it then give it back to my mom also from what i understand if you have problems with guards or anything call they go by"the ones who try try and try get delt with" if you have any questions just let me know good luck to you! how long has your inmate been there?

hello my husband is locked up in the central unit, and edgarsgrl is so right some weekends they let you do certain things and then the next weekend they dont. so always be prepared!!! One thing that i have learned is to speak up. The warden is nice to me and listen and gets things done when i call. another thing if you have contact visits its VERY HOT just to warn you... but if your like me i don't mind as long as i get to see my man and his sexy self hahaha lol..... I have a new friend in Central Unit also.

I have a son in central unit. He has been there 2 yrs and 8 months. I live in Amarillo and that is in the texas panhandle. It is a very long drive so we don't get to see him often. He says it is a good unit. It is true about the visits though. Every time we go there are different rules. Most of the gaurds though are nice and sometimes even give us some extra time. We already get 4 hour contact visits both saturday and sunday. I would love to make friends on here with other people who have someone in central unit.

My ex is in the central unit. He likes it. Hasn't had any complaints. When he moved there, it was s releif because he used to be in Colutalla, which was 5 hours away. He's only 30 mins away now. I think it's a pretty good unit. I"ve only been there a few times since he's been there and haven't had any problems to date.
