I read some postings on this situation, I aslo is faced with a troubled situation :( , my husband and I had an arguement that got out of hand. He did hit me and the police were called. When the police came I had a hickey on my head and my face red from crying they arrested him, so then they forced me to the district to make a report. At this time I had no idea that what was taking place is that I was pressing charges. I do not want to pursue this at all, I have hired a lawyer for him and I want to get him anger management classes, now I am in the state of Pennsylvania a commonwealth state so I'm not sure how this will play out. He's only charged with simple assult, but he is on state parole from a homocide in 1989, we have children and all he has changed his life around and was currently in school. So I have been subpeoned to come to court, I don't want this case to continue, I don't know what to do.....I'm really distressed..

I dont know much about this suject, but I think you can have the charges dropped. Are u sure you wanna do that? I dont know your business but just trying to help. good luck

Call the District Attorney's office and tell them that you want the charges dropped against him and that you do not wish to pursue it. They don't want to waste their time any more than they have to. The fact that he is on parole is a different issue altogether, as the arrest in itself may be grounds for parole violation. He needs to speak to his parole officer immediately.

No one here is going to tell you what to do. The decision is yours. But please be careful and realize that if he is hitting you, there is a real problem there.
