Hi there everyone!

I am needing help, info, or just basically anything that can point me in the right direction to help out my cousin.
He is currently in a county jail awaiting room to be transferred to a state facility. He has a baby that he is dying to hold but he is not allowed contact and the lawyers that my aunt has contacted are no help at all.

Is there a form that needs to be filled out or someone I need to talk to so that he can hold his son?
I have no idea what to look for or who to talk to. I have never had to deal with this and for some reason the family is asking me for help.

I would appreciate any help that you are willing to give.

Thanks,
Trish

Hi Trish

When my husband was in county here, he couldn't have any contact either. The visits were behind the glass no matter what. I don't know what your county jail is like there though, so it oculd be different.

Once he's transferred to LARC to be processed, he won't be able to have any visits unless he's there for over 30 days (and that usually doesn't happen). After he's placed, he'll have to wait until all his visitors are approved before getting any visits (most allow 1 grace period visit during this time). It's hard, but we all went through it and you guys will make it too!

We have an Oklahoma Forum here where you might find some other helpful info.

Welcome to PTO and just know that you all will make it through this :grouphug:

Sorry to here this but he'll have to wait till he gets moved, DOC is a butt and they don't care NO exceptions! They'll just tell you rules are rules! But once he gets to LARC,if he's there 30 days,or to a state prison where he'll get contact visit!
Hard to say but just send lots of pictures and tell him to hold on! Best of Luck! Hopefully he'll move fast!

He needs to make sure that when he gets to LARC that he makes sure his family and next of kin visitation list is accurate. He will have nothing but problems when he gets to a facility if it isnt correct.

The wrong time to have problems with contact visitation is when he can have it his list of family members isnt correct.

Best of luck

To the best of my knowledge everyone is correct. I had my husbands first child when he was in county(Tulsa). The first time he saw her was from behind glass. He was there a little over 2 months and it was pure heck, but NOONE cared. Everything will get better, hang in there. My prayers are with him and his family
