If these are friends, who needs enemies?

I am not convinced that all the people on death row are there by accident or judicial / prosecutorial misconduct or lying accomplices. I do not accept that the death penalty is wrong for society to inflict.

The automatic review of all death sentence and access to top-flight legal assistance for appeals is something all those sentenced to death receive; something no victim is given.

Those who commit crimes resulting in the death(s) of their victim(s) are not ignorant of the consequences of their acts. This is why the majority of them take action to hide their deed or flee.

The perpetrators of violent crime have chosen to move within society while ignoring its most basic tenets of behavior. By their actions these people are expressing their disregard for the way the majority of human beings want to live. The violent criminal wishes to exist in a society where might is right.

Curiously, however, as soon as the violent criminal is incarcerated and is actually in the social setting they have advocated by their behavior they feel victimized. Those who restrained their victims with duct tape or rope are angry to be wearing handcuffs or legirons, to have lost their liberty. Those who beat and robbed are appalled that they are beaten and robbed in prison.

Why do violent criminals think that the general public, who are the originators and advocates of the death penalty, are so much different from themselves? A person who can bludgeon their own grandmother to death or sodomize and strangle a child should understand the urge to violence that society will feel when the deed is revealed.

As for the prosecutorial misconduct or police ineptitude which is often blamed for the harsh sentence, I would remind the anti-death penalty movement that killers have at least ten years and tens of thousands of dollars in free legal assistance to prove it.

As for stockpiling these killers in prison, it is neither safe nor fair for guards and other prisoners. I reiterate that violent offenders will attempt to make society in their image no matter where they are.

Reading the details of their offences is nearly as sickening as reading the self-serving, whining last statements they leave behind. Reading the last statements posted on the TDCJ website, one is struck by how few of them mention remorse or the victim(s) at all. Why don't these guys ever find Jesus before they kill?

While anti-death penalty advocates refer to the death penalty as judicial murder, the killer is offered a sliding scale of violence according to his or her alleged state of mind (from premeditated murder all the way down to involuntary manslaughter). Killing in self defense is not murder. Society has the right to hit back. Society is innocent by reason of self defense.

The irony of a convicted killer having the gall to decry society's use of the ultimate penalty is lost on the victim.

Memorialize your row of friends if you wish, but take a little time to think about their victims and what society would be like if those killers had their way.

I understand that you think everyone should think of the victims. If you will notice every time there is an execution most everyone that post on that thread says "our prayers go out to all involved", or "may every one find peace". So as for my :twocents: I do think of everyone involved. But none the less there are men and women that have been put to death that are innocent.

This website is for encouragement and support to those who have family members or loved ones, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, who are incarcerated. So if someone choose to take the time to type a list, or post a thread in memorandum of a victim of execution that is what this website is for. It is not to say that they dont care about the victims.

Everyone is intitled to post what they feel. I think the fact that someone posted a list to take time to think of those who were executed, that was thoughtful. Because these individuals too are victims. Obviously I do NOT believe in the death penalty.

This is just my thoughts and opinion..Just like you had yours.

Killing in self defense is not murder

I agree

Society has the right to hit back.

Not a civilised one in my opinion. Every country in the European Union agrees...as does Canada, Australia, South Africa and Switzerland.

Society is innocent by reason of self defense.

I am not sure what you mean...it could mean that war is not murder under certain circumstances but I do not know what it has to do with capital punishment which I indeed call a euphemism for judicial murder

By the way, my strong anti-death penalty opinion in no way reduces my compassion for any victims. Indeed, that is part of the point...murder is wrong and horrendeous ---whether done by individuals or the state...and many would say (although I feel it is very different) in war also.

Good for you Regina, what you say is the truth!! I had my only brother murdered, YES I was mad but not to the point of wanting the death penalty as it doesn't bring back the victim so what is the use of it I ask? My brother wasn't comming back if his murderer was exacuted. All that does is bring on more grief for some other family. Murder is murder no matter how you look at it. Two wrongs don't make a right. Rest in peace my brother for I know you are in a better place than I am. And for the man that killed him I hope one day he knows what a wonderful person he took away from us. And rest in peace all those that are on this list. God is a very forgiving God. And unless we learn to forgive ourselves we too shall be judged.

Anyone has every right to their opinion on the Death Penalty. But this thread was not started asking what anyones opinion on the DP was. It is a thread started to show respect and to show how many State killings that have been comitted in Texas. If anyone wants to voice their opinion on the DP we have several threads you can do that in.

Thanks so much for your replies to my post. I am new to the site and did not realize that this particular response was inappropriate for this string. I am impressed that the replies were so thoughtful.

What I failed to include in my original post was my realization that the violent act is not the entire person; many violent offenders are loved members of families and their crimes do not represent 100% of who they are. No matter what their crimes, putting them to death is a terrible blow to their loved ones.

Personally, I don't think anyone should be put to death whether legally or illegally.

Again, I apologize for misplacing this.

When I read that list, my heart does pour out to everyone, family, friends, victims, their families and friends, ALL of them.

You know, I had witnessed an experience the other day, I wont get into it, but it could of resulted in someone getting killed very much by accident. I was shaken up, but when it was all over, all i could think about was, if IT HAD happened, in the US, then the person involved "could of" gotten the death penalty. It was just a spontanous stupid thing, and lucky enough, the parties involved realized that before it did get to that point. It made me think about the men on death row more deeper, as it takes a split second to make a mistake, and perhaps a cost of a life in the eyes of justice to correct it.

The victims family suffer a great loss, its hard to loose someone that you love and care for deeply, at one stage, we have all been through that, and if we havent, unfortunetly we will. All death is a tragedy.

But, the people on death row, loving someone that is on death row, I DO, and several other people on here do as well. I have people I care about as well, on DR. So if they are executed, I always think where will I find my peace? I cant have revenge, and thanks to god, I am not a revengeful person, and wouldnt seek that. I am not debating the death penalty, but my heart pours out to everyone involved in this sentence, and as the list grows, my heart saddens deeply. So many people suffer without cause.

 Murder is murder societal or other wise,It has an effect on the emotional and spiritual realm of all victims. Now take sometime and ask society to give us a count of all of the victims,The families of victims and survivors ,as well as the DEATHROW inmates family members who are victims and survivors of executions/extermination camps.Get the count and I will prove to you, society has created a monster. The victims are given the illusion of instant gratification by killing the alledged killer and when it's all said and done the all of the victims have a plate loaded with grief, pain and more suffering.psychiatric care can only get them so far,Dope can only get you so high, killing themselves maybe what this societal outbreak of suicide is all about. We have to teach people to forgive,Because we all need to be forgiven for our ignorance and thoughts alone on most days.We can not control anyone elses actions But our own.Society has created a monster with this Eye for Eye Foolishness,We have gone as blind are as a Bat,Yet Jesus has already given us his one and only commandment "Love ye one another " Love covers all errors and foolishness. It is easy to seek revenge for someone who shoes you have never walked in ,The victimized and the victims. But we will all be held accountable for every word that proceeds out of our mouth and every evil thought you send out to the universe. So who ever you are victim or victimized Be careful what you putting out here this is a ministry of healing. If your words don't heal they may kill.Robbers come to steal and the killer come to destroy. Now that we know this is HOLY GROUND BE CAREFUL.Peolpe need healing and foolishness has nothing to do with revenge or a child of God who can stand in the gap spiritually for all victims.Stop this emotion madness and get a head count of all these victims and go help families find some peace,Peace surpasses understanding. For everyone affected and infected by Executioners in the US and Globally I pray that God touch your heart to forgive any and all trespassers.I pray that for whatever reason you have been called to this ministry your words and your hands heal spiritual brokeness.I pray for strength on this battle field, I pray that any and every evil word spoken toward your work on this assignment be thrown into the sea of forgetfullness.I pray that every person who sent evil to this web site find peace. If you are victim and have witnessed an execution I pray that God heal and renew your mind, give you peace, teach you to love your brothers and sisters as you love yourself.I pray that healing come to all victims of crimes.I pray for mended relationships globally to all the families who have had to stand in the gap spiritually for a mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, brother, sist er,aunt, uncle, neice, nephew and communities.I pray for the peolpe who get on this web site out ignorance and speak condemnation into their own families.I pray for the people attached to peolpe who speak foolishness out of ignorance.I ask God to not charge the foolish man, who has already been forgiving for his own mess and has now seated himself to judge his brother or sister.Lord have Mercy on the United States Government for using a vice like execution to blind us and farther cause us spiritual sickness and death.I forgive Because I want to be forgiven. All victims need to Thank God for the things that God did not condemn us for,Even the brothers and sisters who's flesh was lethally injected. Man gave the sentence of condemnation,But we know the God we serve would not use or trust a mere peice of dirt to condemn another peice of dirt.It is the spirit of a man that has been given authority to rise above that flesh and ask God for his own forgivness. I really feel sad for the peolpe who are given an illussion of Power to take another man flesh in exchange for a sin that has to be dealt with by the individual with God ,not man.Every man has to go to God for himself to ask for forgiveness. The unfortunate part about this is If God says he will throw the offense in the sea and will not remember it any more, what is society left with a peice of flesh. The minute God says I won't remember it any more .The spirit of that man catches wings up out of here goes on to his next assignment. The poor unforgiving peolpe watching the executions are left here to suffer, Because they refuse to forgive.Rebellion is a spiritual disease of unforgiveness.Ask most of the DeathRow inmates, what spiritually bankrupt is, most of them will tell you a Rebellious Spirit.Ask the victims what made them put themselves through such a haughting tramatic experience, such as witnessing an exectution they will tell you Rebellion. You cannot ask GOD for your healing and follow sickness. Forgive the trespasser,Forgive yourself,Forgive so you can Live.I think the sad thing about all of this is the person who has been murdered or violated by the DeathRow Inmate has forgiven their trespasser and moved on to their next assignmnet ,while the family members are trying to avenge emotional scars that will never bring them Peace, even after the execution. Unfortunatley victims have accepted societal plots to us their spirits as mean to do what they like doing anyway, Execution has nothing to do with the victims,What happens is the victims actually become victimized.Look at the history of public murdering and societal spectators. From lynching to hanging to the holocaust to the trail of tears to electrocution to lethal injection all thway down to the current war going on.Body bags and more body bags. For some murderous reason a sick society has been created to hate and seek revenge to remedy situations or circumstances in most cases the facts have not been established. Can anyone is society speak life into the mothers and fathers who's children have died in that supid WAR going? Can society explain to these kids parents why they keep sending these stupid bags with the flesh of their babies in them? Can anyone in society answer a victim totured by the prison system for 10 to 15 years on on tax payers backs and later exterminated with a injection costing the taxpayers $86.00 .Explain to the condenmed man why his execution lingers for so many years. If you condenm the man get it over why toture him.I tell you why the toture and lingering, Because society has developed a taste for blood and it has nothing to do with victims. There is a murderous spirit in the society we live in today and it likes to use other peolpe's spirits as pawn's to witness toture, hear agony, see pain and hear of suffering.May I suggest a remedy How about we all get on one accord and open up a State and Federally funded Forgiveness Center and have a DeathRow sentencing for peolpe who committ acts of rebellious based on revenge.Let's condenm DUBYA to healing and deliverance. Warden Hillary Clinton can recruit the victimized family members, who have forgiven their trepassers to be DUBYA penpals and all of DUBYA'S at a boys down in Texas. Most sincerely Pray Peace into one another .

Just looking at this list brings me to tears. The State of Texas has absolutely no regard for human life!!!!! My only comfort is that one day Bush (PAST and present) are going to have to go before God and attempt to justify this madness. I can't imagine that conversation but I am so glad it won't be mine to have.

When I look at that list I feel sick and sad - it's butchery. My heart goes out to their bleeding families and friends and also the Victims and their families and friends but two wrongs do not make a right and do not bring back the victims or change what has happened. For those who would say it is right to kill these people - there are families and friends of Victims who stand against the state sanctioned murder of these people, even pleaded that their lives be spared because they have been able to forgive but also realise the futility of just more killing and death....You are SO RIGHT ON CCLYLES - I wish to God there were more people like you - and that people were not so blinded by unforgiveness which breeds hate, revenge and a taste for blood and more blood. I know this is not a thread about one's opinion of the death penalty but I feel it is some how unavoidable, because it somehow is necessary in understanding the tragedy and loss of human life through state sanctioned MURDER. What REALLY KILLS me the most is when some "Christians" uphold the death penalty ?????!!!!! The Bible says we are ALL sinners - there is not one who who is righteous, we have ALL gone astray - our righteous works are like filthy (actually "menstrual" in the original language - sorry but I really hope they get the picture) rags in His eyes and that the wages of ALL sin is death. That is why we need a Saviour Jesus Christ, we will NEVER be good enough to get into heaven. It is because of Christ and His sacrifice alone - no good work...I guess these people have skipped the part in the Bible where the religious leaders catch the woman commiting adultery, in fact she was still busy ....and they threw her at Jesus' feet, holding the rocks in their hands, demanding to know what does He say because the LAW demands that she be stoned to death (ancient for - death penalty) He stooped and wrote on the ground and said the one without sin may cast the first stone. One by one they dropped their rocks and slunk away. He stood up and looked at her and said "is there no one to accuse you ? - then neither do I...Go and sin no more." That is His stand on the question so it is very clear. These people LOVE to quote Romans 13, but I know what the Saviour did....I would just like to say that next time they see those WWJD (What would Jesus Do) initials...stop your unforgiveness, resentment, hate and self righteousness and see what Jesus really did....He is the example.

Any State that has the DP has no regard for human life. The DP has no place in a civilized society.

I would love to be a fly on the wall with that conversation.

What a very sad memoriam and this is just one state. There are so many people who are innocent and yet they appear here. How very sad indeed.

May they all rest in peace, as well as their families and friends who now have a void in their life as their loved one is no longer here to have a chance at life.

God be with them all.
