That would be at the Motel 6 in Tracy. That was the most disgusting, nastiest hotel I have EVER stayed in. Cheaper does no equal better. The shower had mold in it, the toilet seat had burns on it, the vent in the bathroom was missing. I had seen enough. I went back to the front desk and asked for another room - and this one was much better but I already had the creeps:eek: . I've done a lot of research on hotels in the area and they are all about the same price-wise. This time when I go back on the 15th, I'll be staying at the Microtel Hotel. It's a brand new hotel and is not to far from the Motel 6 or DVI Tracy. Rooms are $59 per night. I actually saw this hotel while i was up there in August.
You might want to just try an internet search and see what you come up with.
P.S. I'm flying up from the Ontario area - it's too long of a drive. Southwest Airlines is a lifesaver!!!

Can anyone help me... my guy just went back in for parole violation. He got 10 months... is everything still the same for him (parole violator) as when he first went in? Is he in reception?... so no phone calls..? non contact visits? Since he only has 10 months will he just stay there? Thanks for any information....

You will have to re-apply for visitation. Does he know if he is doing the whole 10 months there?

My son is in DVI and just wrote yesterday and told me he is finally OFF lockdown. However, he was disappointed to find there were NO phones on the yard so he still can't call me. He says being off lockdown means he will get yard time every Monday for 1 1/2 hours, that's IT! DVI is very crowded. I sent him books and Amazon.com has gotten them back telling me there was a problem with the address.....DOES ANYONE HAVE THE CORRECT MAILING ADDRESS FOR SENDING BOOKS TO DVI??? Thanks.

Hi,
Just in case you have trouble finding the right links on PTO:
DVI's main phone number is 209-835-4141; the Mailroom extension is 5670 and the extension for packages is 6445. They can tell you how mail is running and they will describe a writing package: 20 postage stamps, 20 business envelopes (white) or 20 prestamped envelopes, 2 lined writing tablets (stay basic here, white or yellow), no spiral bound writing pads, OR 200 sheets lined binder paper, and 2 CLEAR, see-through, pens, blue or black ink, no rubber grip, no gel ink, no glitter in, OR two #2 pencils.
No phone for reception inmates, no visiting right now for White or Northern Hispanic reception center. I don't think they have internet. I don't know anything about mainline DVI except that you can call for visiting schedule info at 1-800-374-8474: Press 1, then 4, then 3 for DVI. The visiting officer is at 209-835-4141 ext 5704. You of course, will need to be approved for visitation by getting a form mailed to you by your loved one---it has to be signed by him and include his CDC number. Hope this helps.

DVI...is a reception center...the inmates are on lockdown so they can be classified and then mainlined...they are not allowed to make calls while in reception...but they can have 1hr visits behind the glass if you are approved while they are in reception...as for the lockdown some guys are on a modified program so hopefully things will improve...and it will end sooner than later...as for the address PO BOX 600, TRACY CA 95378...if that doesn't work you can always call the mailroom...

I did not think Amazon or Boarders would ship to a PO address. All the prisons have a regular street address in addition to the PO Box. The PO Box is OK if you are writing letters but usually you need the street address to send books. I looked up the street address online but Amazon is not saying I got it wrong. My son is white and they took him OFF lockdown several days ago they let him have a short yard time and go to the store too. I am waiting to get back approval for sending in my SECOND visiting application. They denied the first one because he forgot to sign it. What is the exact number you call to get a visiting appointment? Several people have been nice enought to give me several different numbers but I am confused about which one to call to get a visitng appointment at DVI.
