Hello everyone. I am new here. I want to go see a friend in Sussex II in Virginia and he told me to send him my information from my ID so that he can turn in a visiting list. What info does he need? Just name and address? And does anyone know how long it takes? Do they do a background check? Thanks. :D

he needs your FULL LEGAL NAME (As it appears on your Drivers Liscence)
He needs your Address (as it appears on your liscence)
and your Date of birth

I am not sure if they do a background check - i believe they do a quick check to make sure you don't have any outstanding warrants.
it usually only takes a couple weeks (3 or 4 maybe?) - but where my boyfriend is at - they are only allowed to add people to their list 2 times each year in January and July - but i am not sure what the policy is at sussex - your inmate would know though. He will be notified (they will give him an 'approval' slip) once you are approved (the prison won't actually contact you).
