Hello everyone. I am new here. I want to go see a friend in Sussex II in Virginia and he told me to send him my information from my ID so that he can turn in a visiting list. What info does he need? Just name and address? And does anyone know how long it takes? Do they do a background check? Thanks. :D

My friend just got transferred to Sussex 1 and said they do backround checks there, I'm waiting on my "paperwork" to arrive so I can get on with the process and onto visitation.

he will need your full name, date of birth and address (as it appears on your drivers license).

They will do a "psuedo background check"... if you have any criminal convictions you will not be allowed to visit (even if they're ages old) and they'll also look to see if you're on a statewide disapproved list.

Once he submits it to his counselor it should take 2-4 weeks.... it honestly depends on his counselor. the counselor will let him know when you're approved.

You can also call up to Sussex II and ask for the front visiting desk. They'll be able to tell you if you're on his approved list...... they like you to call on Friday for this information. They can also tell you at that point if he is in general population so he can get visits.

I am impatienly waiting to be approved for visits. I live in the northern, va area right now but i will be moving to danville in August. Does anyone live out in that area? The drive will be about three hours. I know the address on your id, has to match the address he has on the list. Has anyone gotten married yet at Sussex 1?
