Does anybody know anything about visitation at Vacaville's mainline?? Is there appts or a long wait??? Any info would be greatly appreciated...thanks

If you get there when visitors are first allowed on the grounds you will receive a numbered pass from a guard at the guard station as you drive onto the prison grounds before parking. This is the best time to arrive as far as the length of the wait. if you wait until later you will first park and then go and stand in line to receive a numbered pass from a guard who comes out about every half hour. He calls out about 20 numbers at a time and then hands out passes as needed. Expect at least a 2 hour wait on a regular day before your numbers called to line up and be processed. On heavily visited days I've waited as long as 4 - 5 hours. After being processed the wait is generally half an hour. Get there as early as you can or you might not make it in. This prison is very heavily visited most of the time.

As far as I know you only need an appointment for non-contact visits
