Does anyone know why Oklahoma does not have conjugal visits for the married inmates? Have they ever had them or has it always been that way? Just wondering!The way Oklahoma is it will bnever happen! wish!wish! ha!ha! :)

I am not sure why! But I wish wish they would to!!! Maybe soon someone will come along with the answer.

As far as I know, we've never had them and I don't think we ever will either. Oklahoma is nowhere near progressive enough for that kind of thinking...lol. Heck, we just had to pass a law to say that it might be a smart thing to prepare inmates before they are released for living back in the free world :eek:

We don't stand a chance on getting family visits with that kind of thinking...grr! But I'll still cross my fingers just in case because it would be sooooooooo nice to have one...lol.

They used to have Conjugal visits for the married inmates, but I guess it was becoming a problem ( How I don't know ) Jealiousy maybe. But that was over 20years agofrom the last I heard. I wish they would allow them back too.. grrrrrrrr and I know that my ole man does too.. LOL

I dont think it would do any good to sign a petition for conjugal visits in Oklahoma.Heck, these people are so backward that they try everything they can to keep family from even VISITING at all, much less doing anything else....LOL

you got to be kidding conjugal visits in oklahoma no way. OKLAHOMA IS A BIBLE BELT STATE AND BEHIND ABOUT 50 YEARS SO DONT COUNT ON IT. NOT TRYING TO BUST NO ONES BUBBLE BUT ITS A FACT. HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!!!

Billy and I asked a guy one day at visit that is in his 50's and has been in Oklahoma prison for all of his adult life and he said Oklahoma has never had them to his knowledge and that we should keep dreaming cause that was about as close to them as we'd ever hope to get in this state.....maybe we should all move to California and start the paperwork to have our husbands transferred........lol :D

Too true!! I have the down to earth dreams of him walking out those gates all the way to the silly of the President pardoning him :haha:

So yes, I'm going to keep dreaming that we get conjugals here in Oklahoma, and that the 85% law goes away, and that I wake up one morning and this will all be over, and, and, and...

I think we all have those dreams, I'm even silly enough that I check the DOC site daily hoping that someday my husbands release date will magically be many years sooner, like instead of it saying 2066, it will magically say 2006. Guess I'm a greedy dreamer too....LOL

I've heard of it happening here in OK facilities and know if a few who have been so lucky, but that was many many years ago. As far as I know they do not allow them now. Mine is in Vinita and it's the same way there, you have to keep your hands on the table. Now some maybe brave enough to try it but I'd rather wait then lose my visits.
