The IDOC website says my fiance's Parole Eligibility is on Feb. 16th 2006. He is having his parole interview in May and told me he may know something by September....can he get out before his Parole Eligibility date?
A friend who was at the trial said his max. date was Feb 2006 because that's what the judge gave him, but I don't think it works like that!
Also, when he was on probation, before he went in again, the same website said his Sentence Satisfaction date was in 2011 and I thought it meant being paper free/ probation free and he had never been in prison before. I am freaking out here thinking if he doesn't get paroled this first time, he will only be out in 2011....or sentence satisfation date only really means being paper/probation/parole free?

He cant get out before the eligibility date, but they can hold him for as long as they want up to his max date.

If his eligibility date is Feb 16th 2006, but they hold him until Feb 16th 2007 then anytime from 2007 until 2011 will be parole time.


Personally dont bank on him being out Feb16th 2006. Some first timers get out on the eligibility date and some dont. Often times when he goes to board they will give an open date for anytime after he is eligible with the condition he has taken certain programs.

IMO if he hasnt already started programs then he needs to. That way when he does go to board he has a better chance of getting out once his 2006 date rolls around.

Thank you. He has 3 programs to complete. The first 2 he will start in March which is when they are available and the third one he is still on the waiting list for.

Thats one of the biggest problems with the system. Taking the programs needed is so hard. There are always waiting lists for the ones needed to parole

It really depends on the program. I think all the Theraputic Community programs the parole commission pushes are 9 months and up. At the very least they are 9 month programs. Some of the other ones might be less, but the parole commission is big on requesting the TC ones
