I just got a phone call a little while ago - Wayne's maternal grandmother died tonight. She was 89 and had been in a nursing home for a few years, but she was very special to my husband. They had a special relationship - he was her oldest grandchild and everybody in Wayne's family agrees that he was her favorite. On the day that Wayne and I eloped, she was the first person we went to see. She was in the hospital at the time but he wanted to see her first and let her know and spend a little time with her. She had Alzheimer's and didn't recognize most of her family, but somehow never forgot Wayne.

Please keep us in your thoughts and if you pray, send up an extra one for Wayne. Thanks.

Thanks - he took the news better than I expected. He was upset and feels guilty for all of the "should haves." He's sort of detached as it is, so I don't think he functions in reality. He's supposed to call back tomorrow so I can make sure he is okay.

Danielle, I am sorry to hear about his Grandma. I would like to send Wayne a card, let him know that he is in my prayers. Do you mind giving the address or would you rather I send it to you and then you pass it along.
