Yesterday on Voices from the Prison Action Network (see http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106781), Senator Velmanette talked about Saturday’s (Feb 19) events during the Black and Puerto Rican Legislative Caucus. Not only will there be a press briefing from 11:30 to 1
on the topic of Renewing Rights for the Disenfranchised, but prior to that,
starting at 9 am, there will be discussion of re-entry issues. Judith
Brink will be there recording the event. Were any of you aware of this
event? I don't know if anybody here can or wants to attend. Sen Montgomery, in response to a question asking if the public was invited, said yes, especially if they had any suggestions to make. So it sounds like public participation will be
invited. The event takes place in Meeting Room 5, Legislative Office Bldg,
Concourse, Empire State Plaza, Albany.
