What is the name of your state? Washington, DC is where the crime took place.

After doing tons of online research and obtaining referrals fromm various sources I have stumbled upon this site looking for help. A friend has been convicted and sentenced for a crime he didn't commit. He is in need of a heavy hitting appellate lawyer with experience in Federal appeals relevant to criminal law cases (i.e., carjacking while armed - two off duty police officers). I know a little about the appeals process and something related to the fact of finding "errors" etc. If anyone can provide refers for an attorney who is about their business and knows their stuff please send their contact information my way. My friend is currently in transit as of yesterday at the FTC Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any information and/or advice you may suggest.

Yes, I'm compiling a list and trying to get it down to at least 5 to choose from.
Thanks, I'm conducting my research as we speak.

Thanks, I'm conducting my research as we speak. We are using a lawyer named William Kent. He has a website (web address removed per PTO policy - please PM member for information) you will be able to understand what it is that he does and how he will be able to help you. He's a little expensive but you can't put a price on getting your friend out of a crime they didn't commit. Best of luck

Wow, that's interesting because I'd looked him up and got a second opinion before posting this msg on PTO and I thought he'd be a good lawyer to represent my SO as well. He's in Florida right? Well Thank you for the information...unfortunately he just recently received correspondence from his probono or whatever they call it court appointed attorney. All we can do now is continue to pray and keep the Faith. He says he stays in the library reading up on the Blakely law as it pertains to his case and sentencing guidelines so hopefully he'll be able to 'wow' them in the courtroom when the time comes and at least get a sentence reduction or something...

Thanks again :-)

Just an update, the opinion came on 15 September and my man won his appeal, now he has to go back to Florida for resentencing. I am so excited, the lawyer really came through for us.
