Sadie: My boyfriend has been asking me to research the same topic. And although I did find some info on the web I couldn't make head or tails of it. But if you want to go to www.findlaw.com and just type in "early release of non-violent offenders in Texas" in the search area it should bring up case law. Good Luck!

I believe TDCJ has all the bills on their homepage as they pertain to the prisons. MANY bills died first session in committee. They are trying to revive the changes in the parole board before the special session ends next week.

There is nothing specific pertaining to early release of non violents, but rumors are flying RAMPANT. I've talked to several people who have spoke to different areas of TDCJ. RUMOR (rumor being the key word) is that there will be releases in August/September. (can actually feel lulu and ko1 shaking their heads LOL).....THIS IS TEXAS AND TDCJ guys...they are gonna do whatever the heck they want.....

AND GET AWAY WITH IT.....I do think with their director stepping down and taking the retirement gig...the next 60-90 days should be interesting, to say the least.

I'll keep you posted if I hear anything different!

I was able to get to the html. So now I am on the search. You never realize how much stuff you don't know until you get into situations. I never knew there was so many holes in our Justice System. And you don't realize it until you are pushed over this side. Now I know and I am a better person because of it. These trails that we go through are all part of his plan the purifying process. This purifying makes us more like him.

I Myself Have Heard From Administrator Of Madison County Jail That They Are Releasing Early From State Jail In The State Of Texas... With All The Other Lies Bouncing Around Out There I Would Not Hold My Breath But I Can Only Hope And Pray For My Husbands Sake That It Is True. I Am Disabled And Have Had 3 Back Surgeries And Am In Desperate Need Of Another And They Have Him A Little Over 3 Hours Away And I Can Not Drive To See Him, So Me And The Kids Are Like Many Others And Have To Suffer The Heartache And The Tears Until He Gets Home. So The Holidays Will Be Really Ruff On Us All. God Bless To All And Hope Your Loved One Makes It Home For The Holidays.
