Drug-Resistant HIV Strain Discovered in NYC Man

2/11/2005 11:00 PM

It's the most resistant strain of HIV to be discovered...doctors are
calling it "3DCR". The strain was found in a New York City man in his
mid-40s. The 3DCR HIV virus is highly-resistant to all three classes of
anti-retroviral medications that are used to treat HIV/AIDS and, the new
strain also quickly develops into aids. The man from New York City was
diagnosed in December with HIV and it has already developed into the
Aids virus.

I read that this new strain will cause full blown aids in 2 to 3 months. Instead of the 10 years, it usually takes. This is a scary one, I tell ya
