Letters- Are you running out of ideas??? Have you gradually been writing less and less just because you have nothing to say? I was writing almost every day and now once/twice a week at most. :(. Any suggestions will be apprecaited!

You know what I do to spice up the letters or reasons to send a short note sevral time a week. I go digging around the internet and find jokes and funny stories, articles from magazines, Conan O Brian/Jay Leno monolouges. I sent him 8 pages of "Your Momma So Fat Jokes" and he told me he had his cell block rolling. My favorite: Your momma so fat when she goes to a restaurant she don't get a menu, she gets an estimate.

To make it easy to print and send, copy from the internet and paste onto a word document, for Conan and Jay stuff it's white so you have to change it to black after you paste it. Since it all looks like a big letter and not from the internet, its all gotten through even when he was in reception.

He Loves it as he is the cell block class clown.

What I usually do is buy cards and send out 3 or 4 a week with just a few short paragraphs. You can find plenty of cute 99 cent cards around. Also, I send alot of pictures. My boyfriend doesn't even care so much that I don't write long letters, he really looks forward to the pictures! I also send him stuff from the internet like jokes and song lyrics that remind me of him. I've also been wanting to send him drawings since I'm pretty artistic but I haven't had the time.

When I don't have much to say to my brother I too send cards, jokes, puzzles, mazes. There are some pretty funny jokes on lotsofjokes.com Plus I take tons of pictures of the fam and send them too. since he's been away I don't talk much to anyone so I sometimes I don't have much to talk about. My life's quite boring so that gets old. . .fast! LOL! I also have my son write him and draw pictures to send him. I use bigger fonts when I write short letters too because it makes the letter seem longer.

Send internet stuff, jokes, puzzles, pictures and just write about your day. Newspaper clippings- anything. Send IQ tests or riddles. Copy some stories out of this forum. I found a really good one last night on the death row forum. It was labeled "uncensored from death row" What ever you do please keep the mail flowing. I have heard that after 3 years most people lose all contact. I beleive this is when they become institutionalized. Sorry about the spelling. Go to November.org or Famm.org and drum up some interesting stories. Print out this thread!! Let um know, there is people out here who care.

I use to write my sweetie about once a week which has increased to 3-4 times a week. It is hard to keep it interesting and lord knows I need to spice it up. My sweetie loves receving letters from me he says it makes his day so I keepem coming. I am going to try and find some things on line that may intrest him.

Jennifer- If you do a Google search with 'jokes' or 'mazes' as search words you will find lots of websites (although sometimes these sites have a lot of pop-ups etc).
