We have been on lock down 13 days, but we're only on week 2, day 1 of the lockdown schedule. After last night I feel pretty good. This morning 7 am they started showers for us. I was first. They put me in the shower and AGAIN went to search my cell. Harassment? Of course, but I gotta shower since we're only allowed 3 a week.
1 pm ? I just got called down to the captains office. There was an assistant to the regional director and a captain from the regional directors office. Seems our words and protests are being heard. They wanted my input about what I saw as problems here. I covered every issue on my "things we'd like to see changed" expect the hygiene issue, toothpaste, deodorant for level II and III. They told me this was an unannounced visit, they checked the food and temperatures of it today. We had 1 square fish, 2 slices white bread, a scoop of potatoes, a spoon of black eye peas and a spoon of spinach, lemonade to drink (lock downs inmates got their 1 hot lunch for the week).
I can't remember his name, I think it's Robby Robinson, but he said he didn't see no problem with the food today and really there wasn't except the blandness of it and the portions of peas and spinach. One thing I didn't cover and I'm kicking myself in the butt for it now, is the excessive use of gas and force when teams run in, but I will have a letter in the mail tonight about it to him. I cannot believe I did not address that issue. (frown).
But otherwise I covered everything.
I would like to ask for everyone?s cooperation. It seems some things are being embellished about the situation here. Things here are bad enough without needing any embellishment. Please do not make it seem worse than what it is when you write anyone on our behalf. It is not necessary because as I say, the truth is all we need and believe me its being heard. What brought this up was someone writing a letter saying we are made to go to the rec yard naked and one man was forced to stay on the yard naked. If someone is telling this from here I have to say its hard to believe.
We are strip searched and walked to the rec yard in our shorts, when we get to the yard our jumper is given back. If in fact someone was left on the rec yard naked, please have them fill out a grievance so its at least documented. If your not sure of a procedure or rule or a violation write and ask me. I won't pull no punches cause' as I said we are being heard now ? changes seem to be a good possibility in the near future. Keep writing letters and calling people. 3:30 pm ? Big Rob over in the E sec just got gassed. He refused to come out for harassment search of his cell. Now Sgt. Hofer and the pod officers are at Rick's cell. He just got searched this morning at shower time. Harassment at its finest. They left and came back and told him they wasn't gonna mess with him. That's good! I'm glad they done the right thing. The heat has been off all day again. When I mentioned this to Mr. Robinson and Capt. Warner in front of Sgt. Griffin, Griffin quickly said he had called maintenance about it. smile.
Still no heat at 7:40 pm.

I'd like to address a couple of things real quick. First of all in a previous posting I mentioned an incident where a couple people were placed on food loaf for not giving up their milk cartons. I'd like to clarify. Hank Skinner was the first to refuse. When the Lt. came and talked to him and Chi Town, they gave up the milk containers thinking it was the end of the problem, but it turned out that they got food loaf for it. Hank has had the longest running battle with these folks and has suffered quite a bit for it. I know my words are being read out there but a lot of what I've been telling you, he has been living for the last few years and fighting at every turn. So I just wanted to clarify he was also screwed over that day, no slight was intended, just so much going on around me its hard to keep track sometimes. The other issue is the unity here. All that has been going on isn't just me. All it is, is that its my words being read, but it's a united effort in here and we all suffer. Yet we do not bend or break, so the struggle lives on in unity.

Hell, Birdman made them suit up this morning at breakfast which I just found out, over a milk carton. Some of us still don't have cups. Credit also goes to K Loc, EJ and all the rest, Roy Pippin and others. We encourage and support them. But it is not about just us on Level II and III, its about Death Row and conditions we all endure. So please, don't give me the credit. I'm part of the whole.
10:20 pm ? Forgot all about my visit from Warden Chance this morning. Yes, the great shitty one himself stopped by to let me know he was NOT talking about my case when he said he would be there when they murder me to see justice served. He was talking solely about my execution would be justice to him for shitting him down, for some reason he feels this is better than saying Justice will be served when they kill me because of my case. I cannot believe he would even say some BS like that, but he said what he had to say, turned and walked away. Like I said I did feel bad about getting him but that regret has turned to contempt for a man who has no morals or compassion what so ever. The hell with him. Over all today has been a good day. We're being heard and hopefully. Positive changes are around the corner.
I want to go ahead and get this out so everyone is aware of our visitors today. Keep it up out there. We still need all your help and support cause' this battle is still not over, until we get word that things will change now!
Letters to the regional director need to be accurate, letters to the prison board and Gary Johnson also. As I said we must stand on truth now more than ever. Please let your loved ones on the row know this is for everyone, send them copies of mine, Hank's, Roy's and all of our writings so they will see and understand. You all stand tall and speak out cause' our voices and words are being heard. We are all grateful for everyones help and support.
