Michael Ross was scheduled to be executed in Connecticut today. His former attorneys won a stay for 30 days. He and his attorney were just on 60 minutes. Did anyone see it? He is on anitdepressents and a medicine for people that have uncontrollable violent/sexual urges. He says he wants to die. All kinds of "watch"/religious groups are fighting for his life. He says he wants to be put to death.

The argument is that he is depressed and wants "state assisted suicide."
His attorney is fighting to get him put to death, as this is "what the client wishes." So his former attorneys (that he fired) are working to help him live because his own attorney is helping him to try and get executed!

Very controversial. This country of ours seems to be execution sick. :shake:

Thing is though, if they don't help him to overcome this illness, he only suffers more by staying alive. Antidepressens are simply not enough. He is in need of very good therapy.

Well as you know they have not executed him. He is asking to be executed (not that that means he should be). He takes major medication (not just antidepressants) and he is seen by a psychiatrist regularly.

His case brings light to this problem of execution and is still pending.

I know hes being asked to be executed. I know he killed alot of people, mostly young women. however i think they should at least try and treat his depression and other that hes suffering before executing him, at least he knows WHY hes being executed.. Again it offends me that the state is executing somebody with mental illness :(

I know the attorney needs to go with his client wishes, but him fighting to get him executed is helping the state with what they want. :(
This all needs to be revaluated. How sad. :(

If he doesn't go with his wishes, he'll only get another one. This is something where no one gets full satisfaction I guess. :(
