I think im falling in love with my pen pal,told my best mate and now she isn't talking to me so could really do with everyone's support.

all i can say is falling in love is normal. you love him for the person he is not where he is, so theres nothing wrong with the way you feel. im gonna marry a man on death row in 2 weeks from today, so i know how you feel. if you ever need to talk pm me.

Enjoy those feelings; aren't they wonderful! Many people who don't know people in prison will not think beyond the image the media, government and society as a whole gives out about them, but that's their loss I think because as we all know, there are some wonderful people with warm hearts in prison as there are in any other walk of life. I'm sure everyone of us has come across prejudice/ignorance for having loved ones in prison, but the way I see it is that so often it is their issues and not ours that are causing them to react in that way. So you go with your feelings and know you are not alone in experiencing what you are going through and good luck to you both.

fitchick first congratulations Love can happen in the strangest places, it doesn't care. If your best mate isn't talking to you now because of who you have fallen in love with I would say she wasn't really you best mate.
Friends may not always agree with our decisions in life, but as real friends you support your friends decision, that is what friendship is about.

I have friends that I don't agree with their decisions in cetain things, but I still love them and we are friends.

You cant help who you fall in love with. Enjoy the feeling that you have with the person who you share it with. If your friend isnt best pleased about it, that is up to her. Leave her for a while and let her gets to grips with it.

Yes, I agree "liltoomean" that many people dont know who wonderful people there can be on prison. I have one truly dear friend on row, and started writing with others too!! My friendship with that man, has changed my life definitely, and I would recommend everyone to get know those people. ENJOY your feelings - he is human, like all of us. HUGS, and please come to PTO share your up's and down's like we all do - here isnt anyone to judge, and we are really nice and caring people....! :D

Love is the one thing you can't control. Your friend might just be shocked, give them time to absorb it all.
