I posted an article last night about a march to Pretoria by Popcru and prison officials. Tonight i watched on television how they did this and was utterly shocked. They had a warder in chains and shackles and he was being marched down the street. They had huge signs and posters and they were dancing in the streets, some of it quite sexual. I stood there gaping at this lot and just thought to myself OMG, and this is what guards our prisons. They spoke of the fact that if they were not paid a better wage, they would remain corrupt, and that more people would break out prisons. They are obviously not doing their job properly in anycase. They want the 400 some odd Warders that were paid off re-instated. Why were those people paid off in the first place.

The fact is that industrial aerobics as i so fondly phrase the toyi-toyi the people here do when they cant get there own way, is only a way to draw attention to themselves. I am aware of the fact that our prisons are a mess, but when you see the kind of behavior that i saw on TV tonight, one ceases to wonder WHY? I am utterly shocked at the way this was done. What does the dancing do in anycase... does it appeal to them to carry on like this. ???
