I'm 16, I got into trouble when I was 13, and they're just now sentencing me. I was never in trouble before that, and I haven't been in trouble since then. I was put on probabtion January 6th. My mom lives in Ohio, and I still live in Michigan. Do you think they would be able to transfer my probation to Ohio when summer comes? I'm supposed to do half of my community service with the DNR. Would I be able to do that in Ohio?

I would imagine that if your mother has legal custody of you they would transfer your probation. As far as your community Service thats a good question! Maybe you could do your community service in the spring before its time to move???
Your Probation Officer would be the best one to ask these questions. The P.O. would be the one to approve the move, etc.
GOOD LUCK!

Yes, as long as your mother has custody of you then it is the Probation Officers discretion whether he/she wants to have your probation transferred to another state. Also if your probation is transferred then all your Probation Orders will follow. So if you were ordered to do xx amount of community service hours then I'm sure they will allow you to do them in Ohio if they agree to transfer your probation. It's called "Courtesy Supervision" since your crime was commited in one state but you are now moving to a different one.
